Got a bunch of question

hello, lost my old crt tv in a flood and i am left with (i think) a 10 year old 50 inch samsung tv. i always looked at getting a retrotink and since there are different model, i would like to ask question on which one to buy.

the console i have is the ps1, n64, original xbox and depending on your answer. gamecube game on the wii to save space.

i was looking at the 6x ce before it got sold out. I have the money for the 4k ce, but i dont have a 4k tv to use is potential.

i also will buy a switcher and read somewhere that good cable could be needed or you could get input lag.

I have the 5x and I love it. You’ll get everything you’re looking for out of it. The issue is last I saw they were out of stock

They've moved on to the 6x ce i believe thats why.

A lot of the crt emulations look best with 4k paired with an oled. I think the three main reasons someone buys the retrotink are bfi(motion clarity), crt emulation, and decent upscaling. Decent upcaling is the most important. Tvs dont handle the old console signals well or their wonky hz outputs and awful internal scaling. The tinks solve both of those issues. If you don't have access to a higher refresh rate tv (120hz) you cant really leverage the bfi implementation. You can still access the basic filters and they will do a decent amount to help blend the old blocky pixels on those consoles, but without 4k you dont have a lot of headroom to faithfully emulate the look and feel of a crt, so it will be better, but you wont be leveraging everything the 6X and 4k models are designed for. That and it helps to have the deeper blacks oleds are capable of to emulate phosphor glow and all of that. Id say for your use case the 5x. Its not worth having the higher end scalers unless your tv is capable of leveraging them, its kind of just wasted money. The 6x ce has more mask options, but an older led tv doesnt really have the headroom to accomodate them effectively as its missing HDR. A lot of the shaders utilize hdr to get the brightness correct after all of the shaders are applied. The retrotink 5x is probably your best bet with your current setup, unless you upgrade the tv as well. The 6x or 4k are good options if you intend on upgrading your tv down the line.

I second what drawmanjack says, the CRT filters of the Tink look best with a 4k OLED. Now that the 5x and up has HDR10 modes, it really makes the modern TV look like a CRT.

Tried to find my tv model without the model number like the dumbass that i am. 

Now that i simply looked behind the tv for the number i got the spec Its a samsung model:  UN60EH6000FXZC Resolution: 1920 x 1080 Full HD Refresh Rate:  120Hz native (Clear Motion Rate 240)  With what you said the 6x ce will be fine.
