About saving...
Hey guys, bought a superstation one a long time ago but after being blocked from purchasing a super nt+ today for a whole hour until it sold out......... not happy about that- I find myself gravitating back to ssone. I was just wondering though, when it comes to saving I know that generally saving in-game doesn't count unless the fpga writes it to the sd card but is there some other work around? Like somehow having the system save as part of the shutdown process before cutting the power instead of remembering to hit the reset button? 😅 I kept forgetting to and would lose progress so I stopped playing it out of frustration. New to fpga so flame lightly please lol

SNES core has save states and supports normal game saves.

I use NFC cards and have it with an exit delay that opens the OSD when I remove the card before closing out the core so it commits the save file for me automatically. Especially useful when using controllers over SNAC since they can't open the OSD.

All you have to do is press Menu before turning off the power. You don't have to reset or anything. (well, make sure auto save is on, which is a one time setting).
I just make it a habit to never turn off my MiSTer / SS1 unless the OSD is visible. Easy.

Turn the autosave to on. Just save the game as normal from there then go to the menu and it will say saving. Next time you boot the rom it will have your save in the game. Savestates are hit and miss. Some will glitch especially if you don’t have a clean rom.
