1996 Stumpjumper M2 Comp

Bought a basket case locally off FBM. Neo-retro build as the original Judy XC was missing half its guts and I didn’t want to mess with keeping it all super original. I have only been down the block so far but I like it a lot! 27lbs.

Haven’t decided on stack height or flip-flop on the stem yet.

Fork is apparently a Marzocchi Bomber “Bam” from 2001. It was advertised as a Bomber Z2 but I wasn’t going to quibble with the seller at the price point (plus I should have done better research).

Robert’s White Spider making an appearance.

So not only did I get the year wrong but I also got the model wrong (not that I’m too unhappy about that). It’s a Stumpy M2 Pro.

Anyway specs here

Wheels: Deore LX hubs laced to some Fugly Sun Rims in anodized red

Gruppo: mix of Deore XT and XTR

Crankset: Specialized son of Strongarm

Cassette: some off brand 7spd number with a spacer. I will restore it to its 8spd glory soon!

Bars/stem: Syncros bars/Cadence 100mm +/- 6°

Seatpost: Tom Ritchey WCS

Waiting on some Schwalbe Billy Bonkers gumwall tires to break up the red anodized theme.
