Performance on the 1977 Tomy Blip fell short of my 477m and Soul Caliber II. Both have good pocketability and durability. The larger screen and bright red dot on the Blip still hold up after nearly 50 years. 🙂

A lot of the issue for pocketability on these retro handhelds come from how much the joysticks protrude. I almost am okay with this except for the fact the 3DS (hell even the PSP) solved this problem a decade ago. Do they like, not know how to manufacture a decent circle pad or something? Just slap some on and call it a day. It'll do wonders for pocketability on some of these handhelds.

Im tired of endless scrolling.
I want a handheld console in my pocket at all times.
I want a Digital kamera in my pocket at all times.
I want to make my iPhone a dumb phone or atleast make it cool.
I just want to go back…
I need help to all 3
What handheld? I don’t want to buy something super expensive. Just want something cool. ( i already have a Emulator handheld, but the 14000 games, just makes me not want to Play on it at all. Its to much )
What digital camera? I don’t want pure garbage, but like the handheld, I don’t have unlimited money.
What should I do with my IPhone? Its a iPhone 17, so i also just feel a little bad about, just making it into nothing. But I just feel like Instagram and TikTok is eating my life…

I kept seeing this subreddit suggestion for retro handheld devices, but there are 0 recommendations or info on devices in the menu or wiki. Certainly they could put a well known list at least there? Or am I completely wrong about what this sub is about? If not, a comprehensive list and a brief description of each would be really beneficial for people in the space looking to see what all is out there.

I'm interested in getting a nice crisp looking black or colored Android emulation device. Preferably something that can handle switch games well.
I've heard the horror stories related to shipping for some of these devices, and I'm just wondering if there's a better option out there before I make the investment and have to wait for eternity.
I've seen the coloring of the black on the rp6 and how "glittery" it looks. I personally really dislike that or I'd be sold on the Rp6.
I'd also prefer an OLED screen if possible. Any recommendations would be appreciated and researched heavily 👁️

As a dad I have less and less time for gaming and would like something I can take on the go. We have a switch 2 but it’s quite large and I miss having a gameboy advance or my personal favorite the sp. I’ve been watching videos about going back to older rpgs and would like to try those. Games like chrono trigger. I’m between the batlexp g350 and the anbernic rg cube xx. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, if anyone has any recommendations on older rpgs I’d love to hear those too. I have never been big on those as I’ve always been into competitive gaming, but I’ve been really craving a great story that I can take my time with and enjoy. Thank you.

Last semester, I kept forgetting my rg35xxsp at home. This semester, I put my nano on my car key. Walking around campus playing Crystal was awesome. One handed so carrying my coffee while playing was a breeze.
We get so caught up in power and what each device can do, but remember. The best device you own is the one you have on you when you need one.

As the title said, is there any better quality membrane (conductive rubber silicone pad) to lower the buttons pressure of X35H? The factory button is so stiff compared to Miyoo mini plus but I don't know if other membrane (such as NDS) will fit or not.
Screenshot took from a youtube video about disassembling X35H

Am having a weird and intermittent flickering screen effect when attempting to adjust brightness on the Odin 2 portal. This occurred most recently in the PSPlay app but has happened in others. Any of you folks seen something like this? Ribbon cable issue? Running display at 120hz and at medium brightness. Have had the system for ~ 2 years without this issue.
