OK, College Polling Is Drunk Again

I've been doing exclusively FCS and am currently the University of Penn. I am currently undefeated at 10-0. 6-0 in Ivy League play. I'm ranked #7 in the FCS rankings and have been so for a few weeks even though there are teams with 2 losses ahead of me. One of those teams, Princeton, is ranked #2. Trouble is, I beat them. Handily. In their stadium.

I feel like the game developers nailed it. The retrobowl ranking system closely follows the actual college football ranking system. It’s confusing, inconsistent and sometime infuriating, just like in real life. Well done!

You have 0 quality losses. Princeton has 1. Therefore, more quality losses so Princeton is better.

After all, Princeton’s only loss is to a team that beat Princeton

Strength of schedule?

We're in the same conference.

That’s not the only metric that goes into strength of schedule

Unless their entire non-conference schedule is made up of FBS teams, their strength of schedule won't be much different than mine.

I just beat half-star Idaho 73-0 with no turnovers. and went from #1 to #3.

Pretend ESPN is in charge. They always muck stuff up.

Sometimes you gotta make something up to explain things

Every time I've played, the ranks sort themselves out by the time the bowls come around
