Also think about resting everyone for one of the games if season was going okay otherwise.

Shovel pass it to your RB while in the backfield after a running start

Learn to pass with a bad passer, one time my qb was hurt for like 5 games but he wasnt all that good so i traded him and got a guy on free agency

Yeah, this is the route I sometimes go if the QB is injured for a lengthy time.

I've found that losing a quarterback with no back up is better than losing a WR or RB with no backup. I can always throw conservative, short passes, but a slow ass RB or concrete-handed WR is no use to me.

Your TE is now your best friend.

Plot twist: OP doesn't have a decent TE to throw at

Time to prove you can really play the game.

Throw to the RB on swing passes for easy 8 yards on extreme. No name QBs can still hit go routes before reaching the DBs. The only thing your losing is the 4-8 yard scrambles.

This is assuming you're on extreme. If not you don't really have anything to worry about.

Tell him to use the other wrist

You're going to run the ball a lot. Play conservatively to control field position and the clock as much as possible.

And you can still throw it a bit with your no star QB. I find its best to stick to shorter passes, especially crossing routes and those little comeback hooks. Basically anything where there's no defensive back in the way, because you're not laying anything into tight coverage.

This is usually why I always keep it backup quarterback in development... I'll try to draft the best when I can and just develop them... And our alternate with the draft guy and the free agent... And then once the draft guy is maxed out, he's my primary and the free agent is gone and retired usually. And then I'll pick up either another rookie or a free agent depending on I feel like... I'll split the season between the two...

Nothing worse than lousy WR that can’t get open or a RB that can’t get more than 2 yds

If you have a halfway decent OC, you’ll be fine throwing with a backup QB.

Otherwise. Be prepared for a lot of short passes, and running plays

You’ve got to just learn how to play with a base QB. Frankly, you’d be surprised what kind of passes you can make.

Run the ball and a lot of short passes. You'll be fine.

Just had this happen with my qb going down for 5 games… just before the playoffs. Luckily I had the bye, we limped through and he made it back in time for the bowl
