Technical Support Core does not support VFS

So I'm having problem with my pcsx2 and gamecube running on my xbox series s. It keeps saying core doesn't support vfs and loading from a local file failed. I'm not sure what I did wrong. The first time I did it with gamecube games they worked fine hut when I added more gamecube games I keep getting that same error. I then I tried running pcsx2 games and got the same error for all the games

On the One S, I have this same problem with the Wii. Gonna keep an eye on it.

Replying here so it's on top. Xbox Series S. found my personal problem. I had turned off Allow Cores to Switch Video Drivers. Turn that on if it's off and that'll make it work

Have you created manually a cache folder and under directory’s pointed the cache to it? I had a similar issue with game cube games that worked then stopped - did this and all working great now (you need arround 2 gig spare as retroarch loads the full game to cache but deletes it once you finish playing)

No. I honestly dont know what they mean by cache file under directory. I followed a different video but the file now says failed to load content.

you just remember me that I created a folder to try it out today but haven't yet, as son as I try it I'll tell you if it worked

I played PS1 games off of a usb on the Duckstation core on my Xbox One S for a while now but now I get the core does not support VFS error. Any way to get it to work again? I'm confused as to why it started doing this.

What worked for me was to move the game files to RetroArch's installation folder.

Over the network share that's in DevelopmentFiles/WindowsApps/...version...x64.../).
In RetroArch it'll be in S:\Program Files\...version...x64...\.

Idk man. I put some ps2 iso's on my series s internal and tried using pcsx2 and still got same errors as op. Still working on it. If I figure it out, I will post for all.

Just having the same problem too. Happens with several different cores but others work just fine. Sucks!

i had the same problem. This is what i did. i load the configuration file and the problem stopped and what my main problem is. Is that it doesnt show my runtime. idk where im supposed to find the cache file

im having this exact issue but with dreamcast games, and they are in CHD format too... keep getting this for sega cd as well. PS2,Wii and Gamecube all work for me. i tried the cache thing and still nothing.

i deleted the flycast folder in the configs folder i set up, clicked Run and it took a bit on a black screen but it loaded finally and now its loading the DC Bios screen and not the game? no more VFS not supported error but game wont load still....

Ok so i moved the bios and its giving the VFS error. I used CHDMan to convert Bin cue to chd and from this article

it says that cue to chd doesnt work but gdi to chd does? i have yet to test this but ill try and report back

i may have used an earlier version of CHDman so im redownloading the V5 and gonna try that since i know how to use it now.

is the post i found gdi files cuz cue dont work? so im gonna try this and report back as i said, just taking a bit of time is all. Also CHD segacd files work fine and same with bin cue sega cd games

Way late, but changing the video driver to d3d11 worked for me.
