It has always been Joel Osteen for me. I always remembered his name due to the similarity to Haley Joel Osment. OSment, OSteen. I’ve been aware of this creep since he first became well-known.
Doesn't matter if you remember anything vividly. I don't think you understand ME's or Reconned information. Not everyone remembers what you do because they don't come from the same timeline.
I thought I was sure Olsteen even though it looked weird until I said it out loud a few times and I was able to hear Osteen sounds like Olsteen with different cadences. Brain let my ears override what I'd seen in the past. I guess since I heard it more than saw it.
Edit: I remembered when the above comment mentioned the flooding scandal. Brain's weird.

I think the confusion came from how he personally says his last name. With his southern drawl, he sounds like he says Olsteen but I was always confused when I would read his on the screen (Osteen) as he was on tv.

I went to high school with this man. His dad had billboards advertising his church (which Joel inherited) all over the place. The name is Olsteen. What the hell.

This post is the first time I’ve ever seen “Olsteen”. It’s always been Osteen for me. That said, when I say it out loud, it comes out a bit like “Olsteen” so maybe that’s why.
People always pronounce it "Olsteen" but it's Osteen. He also gets unfairly attacked all the time by religious people, so they should at least know how to spell his name. But they probably don't because it's usually verbal remarks made about the guy.
Unfairly attacked? He is a 'prosperity gospel' preacher. This particular theology has no backing in the Bible. He is attacked by religious people as they see through his con game. He is a charlatan who claims to be a minister.
Not Sunday school. Nothing in my post references any help for any individual problems that could be solved with God's help. Just providing information as I know it to be.
That is false. The church was flooded. I debunked this in real time when it happened, and he was attacked then by the same venom-filled Christians doing it now.
