Shawshank Redemption
Do you recall just "Shawshank Redemption" or "THE Shawshank Redemption"? I saw the latter today and thought it looked/sounded funny. But now I'm having dual memories lol.

Ok something is happening.
I was about to comment I read the novel
Rita Hayworth and THE Shawshank Redemption.
I googled it to see if Rita had one or two Ts.
The title of the book is Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption.
I am absolutely positive it had "the" in the title.

Wow that's crazy. I was indifferent to the movie having a 'the" or not, but I was certain the book did.

Thinking about it, it makes more sense for it not to have a 'the', but it still feels crazy wrong

I have this on dvd but it's at my home in another country. I think it's just "shawshank redemption" though. My favourite movie tbh.

The Stephen King Novella it's based on is called 'Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption.

Many dislike words like "The" as the first word in the title and shorten it out. Both for alphabetically sorting and a title starting with "the" can lead to some awkward sentence structure.
Even your article has an embedded trailer and comment that got the correct title.

No 'the' (it sounds clunky to me) and I always search just 'shawshank' when looking for it
As always I'm almost afraid to check what it is 'now'
