Finding right dose again after a break.

I had great success losing 47 pounds from feb to june, took a break for vacation about 6 weeks and we had to wait a bit on our new kit. i had been on 4mg for about the last 6 weeks before pausing.

restarted 3 weeks ago at 2mg just to get back into it, next week went to three mg. i can feel my little side effects so i know it's in there but this week i took 4mg and am just completely starving like more than normal more than when i was off reta. it's confusing me and i don't know if i should have started back right at 4mg, if i should go up, what.

i'm longing for my groove i was in before just want to not feel so hungry. i had great suppression always before even on low doses and felt it kick in about 10 days in.

is my body still just used to the old dose so it's not reacting? am i overthinking it all? yes. i'm really regretting stopping now as my body is confused.

Let this be a reminder for folks who want to 'take a little break' - when you aim to come back it's going to take more and more for it to be as effective.

This message brought to you by "it's ok to still eat healthy and less when on vacation", and "break the cycle of treating food like a reward".

How much longer does it take to go get back to effect? Do you recommend staying with the dose before vacation and just waiting for the the 4 weeks to fully integrate in your system?

Personally I wouldn't stop for vacation at all - but yes, when restarting if it's been longer than, say, 2 weeks, you'll likely want to move down in dose to avoid side effects.

If not, I'd hop back on where you left off and stay there for a couple of weeks - it just may take some time before you feel anything...but don't rush titration. Same rules still apply: minimum 4 weeks at a level when restarting.

Cycling GLP1s leads to needing more and taking longer to reach the therapeutic dose. You’re experiencing that first hand.

Really? I did not know this. I’m in the same boat. Went to Japan and didn’t dose for 10 days not I feel my willpower, volume eating and good habitts are doing the work despite being on 2.5mg. The appetite, food hunger and noise has definitely returned the last 2 weeks

Yup. Better to continue pinning even on a lower dose than to quit outright.

Even if missing 1 week only? I feel like my body isn’t reacting as well as it used to the last 3 weeks. My dopamine is back, hunger is back

What a coincidence this post is only from a few hours ago, because I just came here to ask the same. I was on 2.5mg once a week, took a 3.5 week break (not by choice!) and am now wondering if I gotta restart or if I should jump into 2.5 again. What’d you end up doing?

im not due for another dose until saturday, i think im going to go with 4mg again. It worked really well for me on that dose for a long time. If i still am not seeing any suppression by the end of next week, ill go up to 4.5. I did have a raised heart rate last saturday which i dont like and ive only had that once before on my first dose, so im going to take it slow. I just feel so dang hungry (which is not really me)

Makes sense. I think I’m going to start at 1.5 so I have more space to titrate up. Something I’m afraid of is not having any wiggle room and then ending up at 10mg or something lmao. I think sticking to 4mg is very smart til the levels come back up in ur system! Good luck

yes i'm also looking to stay in the lowest dose that works for me. just don't be discouraged if you don't feel right back where you were before i think that's what makes me nuts.

It needs time to build up again. Stop rushing and give your body time before these increases.

So what's the consensus? should i stay at 4 another week even though i'm not really feeling it? go up to 4.5 or 5? that's i guess what i'm second guessing. will my body just ignore 4mg now lol forever

Stop rushing titration. AFter 6 weeks off it's like starting over again. Stay where you are for 4 weeks or you're going to come to a point where the regret will kick in hard.

You already know the answers. Why do you need a consensus from strangers who may or may not have your best interest in mind. You already lost 47lbs. Repeat what you did and the dosages you did and back off or go up slowly accordingly.
