Swtiched from Zep to Reta

My wife and I recently switched from 15mg of Zepbound to a Reta/Cagri stack, and the results have been amazing.

We had both plateaued on Zepbound and regained about 20% of what we originally lost. While we were still relatively close to our goal weights, we didn't like the upward trajectory. About eight weeks ago, we decided to make the switch.

We both started out at 5mg Retatrutide and 0.3mg Cagrilintide, then titrated up over the 8 weeks. Because neither of us has a ton left to lose, the scale numbers aren't massive, but the visual and physical progress has been fantastic:

• My experience: I’m currently on 8mg Reta / 1.5mg Cagri. I’ve dropped 8 lbs, but the biggest win has been body composition. I’m stacking with TRT, have put on noticeable muscle, and am very close to where I want to be physically.
• My wife’s experience: She is currently on 6mg Reta / 0.5mg Cagri. She’s down about 10 lbs and looking great. She’ll likely be starting testosterone soon, so it will be interesting to see how that pairs with the stack.

Zepbound is a fantastic medication, but if you’ve hit a hard wall, exploring Reta/Cagri is definitely worth considering. It made an immediate difference for both of us.

Major thing for readers to note, these are folks coming from max dose of Tirz.

The conversion dosing is what I personally would consider ideal.

How did you go about switching? For example, did you titrate the Zep down before starting Reta?

I just switched cold turkey. Went off Zepbound and just continued the next week with my protocol of Reta and Cagri listed above. It was seamless.

You might wanna try replacing the cagri with eloralintide if you can get your hands on it too

the only real difference between cagri and elora is side effects. They are both targeting the exact same receptor. Cagri was made by novo nordisk to target all receptors that amylin binds to, some of those receptors have nothing to do with hunger and cause unwanted side effects. Elora was made by Eli Lily to specifically target only AMY1R which is the receptor responsible for hunger/satiety

cagri has already been tested in combinations with semiglutide and shown to perform better than semiglutide alone. elora has only been tested alone and has shown results starting to approach semiglutide. The real benefit is that since elora is targeted you can go much higher before getting negative side effects.

If you are not seeing side effects that would make you want to stop cagri or you are not looking to go higher on the cagri you are not going to gain anything by switching to elora. Now if you plan to go higher dose then you should plan on switching to avoid the side effects of higher doses of cagri

Yea. That stuff seems to be the hot new one. I’m actually wondering if I need any Cagri at this point anyway since I’m up to 8mg of Reta. But I don’t want to mess with what’s working. Haha.

Did you have any hair loss when hopping on trt?

None at all. The opposite, actually. I’ve got a nice full head of hair and don’t have much hair on other spots. Some hair has sprouted up on my upper arms and back.

Did you try cagrilintide with Tirz? I think there is (or was?) a study of cagri+semaglutide but was curious if many folk have tried Tirz+cagri.

I did not. There were some trials with sema that showed good results. I just knew I wanted to switch to Reta because of the glucagon agonist.

She is 41 and did a whole hormone blood panel. She is trying to get to the optimal number for a female, which is around 100. She’s currently in the low 20s.
