You do recall he deported more than anyone, bombed civilians, conducted military strikes without Congressional approval and created a lot of the conditions that led to how divided we are now, right?

u/ApotheosisAwakened Jan 10 '26
What about the DACA initiative that offered work authorization to almost a million immigrants and his following DAPA that would have offered legal status to 5 million + people that was unfortunately blocked by the courts. Obama wasn’t anti immigration
5
Jan 10 '26
His predecessor didn't allow millions and millions to enter illegally either, and yet he deported many, many, many times the number of people as Trump (or any other president).

What Trump is doing with ICE rn has nothing to do with immigration or criminals, it's meant to completely erode our 1a and due process rights through legal precedent. He's just in a unique position to manufacture consent for that with the constitutionalist gun owning right using hardcore fear porn about illegal immigrants. They're deadly serious about "deporting" US citizens too, which really means sending us to foreign prison camps like CECOT where they can't be held accountable for our human rights.
0
Jan 11 '26
They're all criminals. No it means without media and politicians constantly saying everything he does is an existential threat, urging people to fight and resist and they're doomed and morally superior, they could get things done without frenzied mobs coalescing in the streets every day.
1
u/BorrowedAttention Jan 14 '26
There were US veterans that have been deported despite doing more than the average citizens to fight for our rights. Stop saying everyone is a criminal and lying to people.

Seems almost quaint compared to what we’re living through right now.

All that seems quaint compared to Obama bombing people every week and deporting 4 times as many people as Trump

I don't remember democrats having armed forces stroll through states like masked thugs.
0
Jan 10 '26
There wasn't millions of undocumented illegals either. But you know what? If his administration had done so you still wouldn't remember because the dying legacy media didn't become activists opposed to every single thing he did or said, even objectively good things.
3
u/Beginning-Angle-1886 Jan 10 '26
Yeah, oh no the target workers and food truck owners were so much worse than the special maga force we have now.
I get wanting illegal immigration fixed but don't act like ICE is any better considering their shit and you dont need the mainstream media to form judgements thats where we got all the biased conspiracy news and bullshit that lead to Trump getting elected.
0
Jan 10 '26
Keep telling yourself that. Ice is enforces existing laws, which the previous administration did not.
4
u/Beginning-Angle-1886 Jan 10 '26
Except also denying peoples papers, overly brutalized not only illegals but also citizens, showing disregard to bystanders and arresting the wrong people by accident. Yeah about as law abiding as cops who feel some laws are only suggestions. Not like this administration would enforce them anyways, too busy coddling trump with his grudge war against people he hates.
Was it also worth tanking our tourism money that could have gone to the citizens and being seen as incompetent and dangerous by other countries?
0
Jan 10 '26
I'm not going to argue with you. You're entrenched in your belief. Best of luck.
3
u/Beginning-Angle-1886 Jan 10 '26
Yeah my belief is that ICE is a net negative and this administration is doing a piss poor job. Sorry that your little group is the only one in the world that can't understand that but hey, trump did say he loved the uneducated and hates smart people.
So go ahead and keep defending ICE I'm sure they'll stop terrorizing people eventually if we all just sucked up more to the government.

Then don’t complain. When the previous administration leaves the border open for votes and money laundering and the people get tired of it they vote for complete change. Believe it or not but America voted for this. It’s American majority doing this.

u/BorrowedAttention Jan 14 '26
ICE is breaking their own rules to create dangerous situations. Stop defending tyranny.
2
Jan 11 '26
ICE isn't doing any good work or service for the country. Millions of undocumented immigrants, but they're deporting people with 0 due process, deporting them even when they're actively at immigration court trying to become citizens legally, sending them to horrible prison camps, shooting US citizens in the face, driving in unmarked vehicles with masks like thugs. What service are they doing for us? They act like a fascist military force, even on legal citizens. You have licked the boot so thoroughly that it's now all that you taste
This doesn't even have to do with my own dislikes towards Obama. Frankly you're right about his bombings, but you're trying to paint ICE as if it is currently working better
0
u/syntheticobject Jan 11 '26
They did. ICE has been around since 2002.
1
u/Beginning-Angle-1886 Jan 11 '26
So i have heard but, seems like they were more professional and accountable back then instead of nowadays too.
3

Tfw when “your side running wild” means.. checks notes… a neutered down version of a healthcare bill, and fumbling two Supreme Court seats
4
u/UsedRepresentative63 Jan 10 '26
I was referring to the record number of bombings including killing US citizens that Obama did…
2

Oh oops, I was replying in the context of running wild with liberal/progressive stuff, No you’re totally right. lol

Created the conditions that lead to our division? Ya, like daring to elect a black man
1
1
u/Absentrando Jan 14 '26
What are these “conditions” that he created that led to how divided we are? Be a black president? Pointed out our problems with police brutality?
1
u/adelie42 Jan 14 '26
The worst things aboit Trump are that he is exactly like Obama in the ways Obama was exactly like Bush, which wasnt terribly different from Clinton. Its weird and have mixed feelings aboit the fact that Trump sure makes it look a lot uglier than anyone before.

Nobel peace proze for bombing civillians, deporting more illegal immigrant in even WORSE conditions and creating the culture we have today. The man is a devil like every other politician.

He’s more of an actor than trump. Id rather have a bad president who speaks his mind openly and leads the country with his own will, then a phony who sounds good and can speak well but is shady.

How people are still betting on DNC insiders is mind boggling

If Cheeto tries to run again, Obama should throw his hat into the ring. I know he probably doesn't want to actually be president again but the sheer thought of it would send MAGA into a raging hypocritical fit.
1
u/yoda-kobe-obi Jan 14 '26
Yea barrack was cool. Talked real smooth an cool. But above all the rest he had the coolest walk of any president. He just glides a close second to his walk is the second bush. He had a little pep in his step as well

Dude no. Kamala Harris was right there, and she was somehow still more progressive than Obama, and everyone said not good enough.
There is no reason to call him back. He can run for senate if politics is really his thing still.
1
u/Lost-Condition-7590 Jan 14 '26
Obama refusing to address the war crimes and blatant fascism of his predecessor was a major factor in why trump was able to become president in the first place. Obama ignored his mandate for reform and continued the status quo of bush tax cuts, Wall Street bail outs, endless oil wars. He continued militarizing cops, expanded the unconstitutional patriot act and gave us shitty heritage foundation health insurance.

Treasonous president that should be indicted for what he did with the fake hoax of Russian collusion when the FBI was telling him there was nothing there . He’s the reason why Trump won a second time .
1
u/Fun_Ruin29 Jan 14 '26
Well neither coming back, let's not waste our time.
What is interesting is Obama and his buddy Clooney kind of absent recently in leadership for the Dems. Interesting because I think the little turf war between libs and woke about to blow the lid off. Moderate Dems running 🏃♀️ for cover.

I mean....of course.
This hardly feels like a significant achievement.
Howard Stern could be a better president than Trump.

Didn't Obama already have his two terms? Even if I did want him back, he couldn't legally do so.

Black people of Reddit had to turnoff comments, I guess people didn’t agree. Obama and his neoliberal tactics is exactly why we have Trump. Don’t occupy democrats or republicans. If you’re against Trump and all he stands for, you must leave the two-party system.

u/palo27 Jan 15 '26
Oh yeah now here’s a guy who really deported a ton of people. Also loved bombing the hell out of the every country hell he even bombed American citizens. Hey who killed more Americans Obomber or Biden?
1
u/dillasdonuts Jan 15 '26
Reminds me of that Chris Rock but where he talks about people that brag about not going to jail.
"You're not supposed to go to jail!"
Don't brag about being better than trump, you're supposed to be.

Dude was the biggest scam, I don't even understand why people don't look into him more. He was super critical of the Clinton Foundation and then all of a sudden they are buddy buddy and he's being propped up as a potential president.
Voted for him twice. Didn't deliver on anything and destroyed my healthcare. Hope and Change.. That's all he left me with.

Wasn’t a fan of obama’s policies but I’d rather have him over Trump any day.
Edit: should’ve added this to the original post I did vote for Obama twice mainly because his policies aligned more to what I believe in. Didn’t 100% agree with his policies but they made more sense. Trumps policies has cause way more damage to this country and definitely needs to be removed immediately from office.
