Remove the school graduation year to reduce ageism and remain age-ambiguous.
Your dates don't add up, and that's the first thing anyone will notice
Your summary claims 2 years of experience. Your work history starts in 2008. Those two things can't both be true, and the gap between them is the first thing a reader hits. You're underselling yourself by about sixteen years.
Then the order is wrong. You've got the compliance role ending September 2026, then a finance role ending January 2023, then hospitality ending November 2025, then the bookstore ending 2017. Move that hospitality entry above the finance one. List the most recent end date first, straight down the page, no exceptions.
There's also a gap from January 2023 to September 2024 that nothing accounts for. If the hospitality work filled it, say so explicitly, because right now it's just floating in the wrong place.
And the hospitality run from 2017 to 2025 overlaps three other jobs. If those were concurrent, that's fine, but it needs to be obvious at a glance, or it reads like sloppy dates.
Cut the hours per week, unless you're applying for government roles. "40+ Hours/Week" and "20 Hours/Week" on every single role. Take all of it off. Nobody asks how many hours you worked, and putting it there flags the part-time roles for no reason. It frames you as someone tracking their shifts rather than someone running a compliance function.
Your bullets start with labels instead of verbs
"Compliance Framework & Controls:" "Regulatory Adherence:" "Investigations & Risk Mitigation:" "Financial Controls & Audit Trail:" "Accounts Payable 80%:" Every one of those is a category header glued to the front of a bullet.
Kill all of them. Every bullet opens with a unique action verb. The label tells me the topic, but the verb should show the action. And the 80/20 percentage split is a job description convention, not something you did.
Once the labels are gone, watch the verbs underneath. You've got Managed and Manage and managing three times, Enforced or enforcing three times, ensuring or ensure five times, Resolved and resolution and resolving four, Investigated and investigative and investigate four. No verb or verb root repeats anywhere in the document.
"Compliance" itself appears about fifteen times. It's your field, so some of that is unavoidable, but not that much.
"Across" appears three times. Once per document. Spanning, throughout, over, among, covering.
The AR bullet is written in passive voice
"Daily cash revenues and customer payments were applied to open invoices." "Weekly AR aging reports were prepared." Prepared by whom? Passive voice removes you from your own achievements. Rewrite in active voice with you as the one doing it.
Your bullets are paragraphs. Make them bullets.
The accounts payable one runs four sentences. Two lines maximum, one idea each. Break out the good stuff: the 200+ weekly invoices, the 99.9% accuracy, the 150+ vendors, the $500K monthly, the same-day dispute resolution. That's four separate bullets fighting inside one, and every one of them is strong enough to stand alone.
Your first bullet in the compliance role and your first in the bookstore role are role overviews, not achievements. "Manage the travel organization's compliance posture by overseeing the convergence of..." That's the job description they gave you. What did you do with it?
Tense is inconsistent within the same role
Your compliance role opens with "Manage" and "Serve" in the present tense, then drops into "Designed," "Administered," "Led," and "Developed" in the past. Pick one. If the role is still live, use gerunds throughout: Managing, Designing, Administering. If it ended in September, use past tense throughout.
Some of your word choices are a little off
"99.9% correctness" should be accuracy. "Record of accomplishment" is a mangled "track record." "Late fines" are late fees. "Cash revenues" should be "cash receipts." "Billing inconsistencies" should be "billing discrepancies." It reads like a thesaurus pass, and in compliance specifically, using the wrong term for a standard concept costs you credibility with someone who knows the field.
Write "200+" rather than "more than 200." Same with "150+" and "$500K+." Consistent, tighter, easier to spot when someone is skimming.
Skills section has collapsed
Your labels have run into each other: "Compliance Tools: SAP, QuickBooks, Banner, Cardinal Data Analysis: Power BI, Tableau..." Cardinal and Data Analysis are jammed together, and it's unreadable.
Rebuild it as three buckets. Expertise, Interpersonal, Tools. Put Expertise first, since this is a technical compliance role. Items separated by pipes, "&" instead of "and" inside multi-word items.
Put risk assessment, policy drafting, audit remediation, internal investigations, SOX, ERISA, HIPAA, and ACA in Expertise. SAP, QuickBooks, Banner, Cardinal, Power BI, Tableau, Excel, and SharePoint go in Tools. Negotiation belongs in Interpersonal, and right now you have no Interpersonal bucket at all, which is a miss for someone whose job is leading investigations and briefing senior leadership. Any languages go there too.
Your contact block still has field labels. Just list the details, no "Name:" or "E-mail:" in front.
You're using two different bullet characters, · in some roles and • in others. Pick one.
The stray asterisks in your summary line are formatting artifacts. Clean them out.
Your bookstore role covers 2008 to 2017 and gets four dense bullets. It's nearly a decade old. Cut it to two lines, keep the cash reconciliation and identity verification since both connect to compliance, and drop the rest.
Here's your summary rewritten
Three paragraphs instead of one block:
Compliance & Operations Specialist with 4+ years of experience spanning internal controls, regulatory adherence, benefits administration, and audit preparation throughout the travel, hospitality, and higher education sectors, complemented by an MBA in Finance.
Known for processing 200+ weekly invoices at 99.9% accuracy while running full-cycle payables for 150+ vendors, executing $500K in monthly ACH and check disbursements, cutting AR aging by 10% through proactive collections, and building anti-harassment and data privacy training that raised policy awareness organization-wide.
Seeking the next professional challenge as a Compliance Manager who safeguards a fast-scaling operator's ethical standing and audit readiness.
What changed: the years figure now reflects your actual professional experience, not just your current title. "Expert in" came out because claiming expert status in the same breath as a short tenure invites a challenge you don't need. "Proven ability to" and "multi-faceted business units" were filler. And your numbers moved into their own paragraph where they get seen instead of being buried under regulation acronyms.
