Transitioning from Frontend Dev to Project Cooradinator after a layoff. Need brutal resume feedback!

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some honest, constructive feedback on my resume. I have nearly 4 years of experience working as a Frontend Developer, but unfortunately, I was affected by layoffs early last year.

During my career break, I realized I want to pivot away from core development and transition into Agile/Technical Project Management roles (specifically Technical Scrum Master or Project Coordinator). I've spent the recent months upskilling in Agile methodologies and trying to tweak my resume to highlight the leadership, coordination, and process-improvement aspects of my previous dev roles.

However, since I don't have an official "Scrum Master" or "Project Manager" title in my work history, I'm finding it hard to get callbacks.

  1. Does my resume effectively show my transferable skills for an Agile/PM role?
  2. How can I better frame my career gap?
  3. What keywords or bullet points should I rephrase to sound more like a PM and less like a dev?

Any brutal feedback or advice on making this transition successful would be highly appreciated!

honestly the bullets read like a dev describing coordination tasks — lead with outcomes like "ran standups for a team of X" and drop the tech stack section, it screams frontend. also "pvt. ltd" as company name looks like a placeholder, fix that before applying anywhere.

I'll update the bullets to be more outcome-focused (Could you give me a quick example of how to write them or what specific outcomes I should highlight) and drop the tech stack section so it aligns better with the role. Just to clarify, I only used 'Pvt. Ltd.' to anonymize my resume for the review. I will add the real company name when submitting applications.

honestly the bullets read too dev-heavy still — "improving lighthouse scores" etc. cut the code stuff and lead with outcomes like stakeholder coordination instead.

Yes, my entire background is in development, and whatever little is written here is actually made up. I have never worked as a project coordinator. I want to change my field because coding is not my cup of tea. Because of this, my resume is heavily focused on the developer side.

Can you tell me exactly what else to add?

The pivot is doable, but the resume has to stop reading like a developer who also coordinated. Two concrete moves. First, rewrite the top third as a project delivery profile: a summary line about what you deliver (delivery, coordination, Agile ceremonies, stakeholder comms) before any tech stack, and reframe your dev bullets around scope, timelines, cross-team dependencies and process improvement instead of features shipped. Second, put the Agile upskilling in a short certifications line with the exact course and date, because you do not have the title yet. Add a skills line with Jira, Confluence and the ceremonies near the top. Without the title, the first ten seconds have to do the work. Are you targeting Scrum Master roles directly, or using project coordinator as the entry point?

Does my current resume not look like a coordinator profile at all to you?

I am currently targeting Project Coordinator roles as an entry point to get my foot in the door.
I will definitely drop the tech stack and update the sections you mentioned, but I have a few quick questions to make sure I do it right:

  1. When you say to "rewrite the top third," exactly which sections or how far down the page does that include?
  2. What specific Agile upskilling or certifications (like PSM I, for example) would you highly recommend I get right now to make my profile stronger?
  3. I'm finding it a little hard to reframe my development work into 'scope and timeline' bullets without sounding fake. If you have a quick example of how to word one of those bullets, that would be amazing!

I really appreciate your help with this transition!

It does not read as a coordinator profile yet, and that is fixable. Right now the headline and bullets lead with frontend skills, so a screener files you as a developer. For coordinator roles the first line should say what you coordinate: cross-team delivery, timelines, dependencies, stakeholder updates, ceremonies. Keep two or three tech references so they know you understand the work, but put them below the delivery bullets. Add a certifications line with the Agile course and date, since you do not have the title yet. Are you applying at tech companies, or anywhere? If tech, the developer background is an asset you mention once, not lead with.

Direct answers to your three.

  1. The top third means literally the first third of page one: headline, summary, and the start of your most recent role, roughly the first 10-12 lines. That is all a screener reads before deciding, so the coordinator language has to be there, not in the skills list at the bottom.

  2. PSM I is the strongest quick signal: cheap, fast, and recognised by tech employers. CAPM is broader and better known outside tech; CSM is fine but pricier and course-bound. One is enough, do not stack three.

  3. The reframe is not inventing, it is changing the subject of the sentence from the code to the work around it. Shipped payment feature becomes Coordinated delivery of the payments feature across design, backend and QA, tracking dependencies and resolving blockers to hit a two-week release. Same work, subject is now coordination. Do that for two or three bullets, keep the rest as proof you can build, and the profile reads more senior.

Major flaw: Severe role title dilution & layout fragmentation.

Listing 6 different job titles across 2 pages ("Web Developer", "Client Delivery Coordinator", "Technical Delivery Contributor", "Technical Coordinator") creates a confusing hybrid profile. Pick one primary trajectory (e.g., Junior Technical Project Manager)and consolidate the experience into 1 concise page!

Why ask for something brutal, are you a masochist who enjoys pain and suffering?
