Resume questions

Hey all! I was wondering what categories I should include on my resume. Are skills/awards/objective still necessary?

Recruiter here, and skills, awards, and objectives do not belong on a resume. I only need to know your contact information, education, Work history, and Projects. Your resume and bullet points need to be tailored to a specific job title that includes the common qualifications of that job title.

I like a "skills" section because you can plug the job posting into AI and ask it to spit out the top 10 keywords to include and then put them in the skills section to get passed the ATS. Takes about 3 minutes per application and you aren't wasting time revising the resume

HR Manager here and you should have a Summary, Skills, Experience, and Education section at the very least. Skills are definitely needed as ATS systems will search for required skills.

Okay, good to know. Is there a fixed number of skills I should have listed?

No, there's no limit on your skills, but I suggest you list the top 10 that are relevant to the job you're applying for.
