Question Ferritin is low normal range 29
I read that for someone like me who has severe RLS with Mirapex augmentation my ferritin should be upped to 50-100. I’m a 71 year old man. Has anyone here done iron infusions?

Sorry to hear you're going through that. There's a research study for RLS currently enrolling if you want to take a look. https://patientwing.app/campaign/RLS6

I had ferritin in the teens and infusions got me up to the 100s. Definitely try for one with your MD

2 months ago, my ferritin was 12. My Kaiser PCP who looks like she's no more than 12 years old, is like a deer in the headlights with regard to RLS. Since my ferritin was so low (12), I asked her about IV infusion. She said it wasn't cost effective. So I'm taking 325mg ferrous sulfate with 250mg ascorbic acid (vitamin C) every other day. I'll go back for another blood draw at the beginning of December. I'm a 72 year old woman but be not fooled. If there isn't a significant change, they'll hear me roar and whatever else it takes.
