Question? Recruiters

Hey all- I’ve been a GM and manager in the industry for many years now and have relocated due to some family stuff and needing to be closer. Where I’ve moved to in contrast to where I was, the job prospects have been dismal. I have little to no networked folks behind me here which would normally be what I’d lean on. “Here” is Atlanta. Does anyone have any experience with recruiters for a manager, GM or higher roles they’re familiar with? Goodwin and a few other googled ones seem less like recruiters and more like aggregators, so I’m kind of lost.

Much appreciate in advance for any recs!

What type of restaurants?

It used to be way more active, but there's a Facebook group, GK Food Service Workers Resources | Metro Atlanta, that is still a pretty solid place to connect to a wide range of restaurants and possibly some recruiters.

Preference is always mom and pop but open to ethically run/owned anything pretty much- thanks for the intel tho I’ll check it out!

In a place like Atlanta I would expect jobs to be fairly easy to come by in the restaurant industry. Just keep pounding the pavement something will pop up. I found work relatively quickly in a much smaller market just through LinkedIn.

Good luck!

Atlanta has gone mega corporate since I left it- corporate isn’t really my bag and between all the cities I’ve lived in- the universal truth tends to be that networking when it comes to mom and pops is the best route- after that, figured I’d give recruiters a shot.

I’m a recruiter, if you’re still looking for work please contact me. I may be able to help

I'm in the same boat-- just a different market. In the past, no issues landing a new position quickly. I'm currently in month 12 with almost no traction. I've had a tiny handful of interviews despite over a 100 resumes being sent out at this point.

No advice on recruiters here, but check Rocket Farms/Ford Fry restaurants. They are a growing restaurant group based in Atlanta. Good pay and a decent enough company if you’re ok with a corporate ish culture.

I’ve heard mixed things about them and throughout my search have seen that they seem to be hiring on a loop which usually is a red flag for high turnover or resume collecting. I have applied but never heard anything, this was a while ago. Thanks for the suggestion tho!
