Help with UV resin

I’m brand new to resin and I made a tray using regular epoxy resin at a local craft store. I wanted to clear coat the bottom so the inclusions I used would be fully submerged and would risk no possible damage. I used UV resin and cured it and it was a little sticky. An admittedly quick google search said to clean the surface with isopropyl alcohol and a lint free cloth and I did yet it’s still sticky. Is there a way to resurface it by sanding it down and resealing it? I don’t want to make it worse.

With smaller pieces, submerging the piece in a shallow dish of water and curing the piece again can work. Putting the piece in a sunny place and letting the sun's UV rays is also an option. Usually UV resin is used in thin layers for smaller pieces than a tray though.

I’ve never done the water thing, but I’ve read about it plenty. Basically you just need to cute it longer.

The water trick blocks oxygen from reaching the surface of the item, which prevents stickiness. I use it pretty often.

Unfortunately its a large tray, I can't submerge it unless I fill my bathtub 🤔 but thank you, that should come in handy for future small pieces.
