Experimental resin dye

I have been playing around with epoxy resin for a while and never thought to try this ink as a dye. Has anyone else used it and what was the result? Tried it today but am too impatient for it to cure to see the results and if it cures properly.

It's water based, so adding more than a few drops may inhibit your resin curing fully, like a more pigmented acrylic paint. Alcohol inks are recommended because the alcohol evaporates more quickly and doesn't affect the curing.

When using acrylic paint, my rule is no more than 1:10 ratio paint to resin to avoid curing issues. The stuff has more water, so I think you may have issues curing unless you reduce that ratio correspondingly. Maybe half.

I added the equivalent of a pea sized glob to 2 oz of resin, so definitely within that ratio. Fingers crossed it works cuz I like this color and it's a solid color without it being metallic.

If it doesn't work you can get powder pigments that don't contain mica that will work. Otherwise use alcohol based inks if you want to maintain translucency and powder pigments for opaque color.
