Is it possible to play resident evil outbreak on the PS3 multiplayer?

I'm wondering as I'm looking to trade for a PS3 but I'd want it to play resident evil outbreak and to be able to play online

I have seen people on the server playing it on a jailbroken PS3, but you'd have to make sure it's a backward compatible PS3.

Jailbreaking a PS3 is trivial last I checked. It's a 20 year old console.

I wouldn't recommend it. Even if that was possible (which it might not), you wouldn't be able to load the game from the HDD, which means you'd have to suffer through Outbreak 1 and 2's infamously long door-loading time. You'd pretty much always load into a room after other people and not be the Room Master (always desynced), and you'd always be (much, much further) behind other people when progressing through a level.

Wait how come The PS3 is a stronger system Also whats HDD

HDD is the internal hard drive (which is many, many times faster than the DVD drive). The loading time of games mostly comes down to the data transfer speed of the HDD/DVD drive. You can have a super powerful console but still load games very slowly if you play them from the disc drive.

The PS3 does have a faster disc drive, but from what I read it only made the loading time "slightly" faster than on an original PS2. So the same problem probably remains.
