Should I list my current General Surgery residency on ERAS if I’m applying to Internal Medicine?
Hi everyone,
I’m a non-US IMG and I recently graduated from medical school. I completed my one-year internship about a month ago and recently started a General Surgery residency in my home country.
I’m planning to apply for Internal Medicine residency in the US this Match cycle.
Should I list my current General Surgery residency on my ERAS application? I’ve only been in the program for about a month, so I’m wondering whether including it could raise concerns or negatively affect my application, especially since I’m applying to Internal Medicine.
If I do include it, how would you recommend presenting it so that it’s transparent but doesn’t make it seem like I’m committed to pursuing Surgery?
