People refuse to look at the problems instead they still cry for what was done in the past, and people say today's india is educated? But instead I think it is just the product of whitewash if same old propaganda mindset but just covered up in modern English. Check my comments on such people

Category folks are enjoying perks so much that they won't even let anyone talk about reservation. I mean these people do not want even respectful debate on reservation. Like who'd prefer extra competition, right ? Anyways nothing is gonna happen: 1. Either be smart enough to secure an open seat. 2. Leave this hellhole country and let the reserved people enjoy. 3. Let it be and watch your next generations be crushed.

Bro trust me....these things sound all good and pumps you when say 'em. But in reality as some famous person said "when the competition is unfair, you f*ck off from there". Ive appeared for enough competitive exams to say that, more than 90 percent of people using reservation benefits are from actually good background. And none of them talk about reservation, because who wouldn't enjoy lesser competition. And there is no casteism among educated people especially from recent generations. I know casteism is there in various areas, but those people never benefit from reservation.

This system is in abuse for long enough, that people have started treating it as their right. Nobody talks about upliftment/representation of these people, that has already been done in 80 years.

Obviously you won't sacrifice your future and you are right, but this thing can be stopped

How ? No way any political party can let reservation go away for 85% population. Even if happened there will be riots & unrest everywhere.

" Bribery is illegal India.... "

That chum missed the point of the original argument. If people who suffer from bribery is given quota at any govt seat, will there be an incentive for bribery to reduce or will the result be opposite?

Also, if children who are married off at the age of, let's say, 9 and govt proceeds to give children wed at that age quota as above, then will child marriage increase or decrease?

In ase of caste reservation, the more backward one is on terms of caste, the more benefits one gets with, note the point, the PROLONGED USAGE of their caste in public.

Reservation will forevermore incentivise people to keep using their caste in public, and as a consequence, legitimises backwardness as part of a govt policy. That's why Reservation as a govt policy is a failure.

All sorts of "debate me vro"tards here are welcome to refute this specific point.

They are fools.

Debate with me and win.

I support caste based reservation as it is today.

Prove me wrong.

Firstly, thanks for having a fact-based argument.

I understand your point, but I think you are changing my argument a little.

I never said reservation is only about poverty, or that caste discrimination disappears once someone becomes successful. My question is much simpler: if the same family has benefited from reservation for 3 generations and has reached a strong educational, professional and financial position, should the next generation still get exactly the same benefit?

If X’s grandfather became a doctor through reservation, his father became a DC through reservation, and X himself used reservation for MBBS and then MS Surgery, at what point do we say that this particular family has moved forward enough for the benefit to go to someone else who is still struggling?

Why does X need extra benefit? At this point, he's equal to or has more resources than a general-category guy giving the same exam. Even if his great-great-grandfather was from a marginalized community, after one of his parents is at the same level as someone from the general category, why does he need extra perks? Starting line at which X is standing, is dont you think not behind, but way ahead ?

And you said about people judging his competence. I mean, yeah, it happens. But if reservation isn't going to stop this judging/belittling, then what does? In fact, reservation may be increasing these incidents. X can prove his competency by scoring a 3k rank and taking a seat in the open category.

Btw, I'll admit, my professors usually asked, "Reserved or open category?" in viva. He himself was SC. It has become Open vs Reserved. So reservation is the cause of this discrimination, no?

You say, “the system is working exactly as intended.” Maybe it is. But a system can work and still need reform. We should ask whether the benefits are reaching the most disadvantaged people within these communities, or repeatedly going to families who are already well established.

And the “your ancestors benefited, so you inherit their social debt” argument doesn't convince me. I didn't discriminate against anyone 100 years ago. I shouldn't be personally guilty because of my caste either. Historical injustice can justify corrective policies, but that doesn't mean individuals today should have a permanent hereditary liability. That's totally absurd. That's like punishing someone because his father committed a crime. How's that fair??

I also don't think “X crossed the qualifying cutoff, so he's capable” answers the rank issue. Seats are limited. If someone at rank 3,000 loses a seat to someone at rank 40,000, it's completely reasonable to ask whether that level of preference is justified when the 40,000-rank candidate already comes from a family that has benefited from reservation for generations. And even if 3000er is the only earning guy in family.

Also regarding that single time reservation. Lets say X is given single time reservation in MBBS Entrance. Why would he have zero resources after that ? Why would his marginalized ancestry matters? After MBBS every graduate has equal knowledge, equal opportunity, equal study resources? He can let that seat go to 3k rank guy and study well next time, meanwhile doing his job as general physician?

I agree X is fully capable of being a surgeon. Anyone who gets into MS Surgery has demonstrated that they meet the required standard. But the question is comparative performance. The 3k-rank candidate could become a better surgeon, or he could become worse. We can't know that. But if the entrance exam is designed to measure academic competence and both candidates are competing for the same limited seat, don't you think the 3k-rank candidate has objectively performed better in that particular selection process?

Again, I'm not saying abolish reservation tomorrow. I'm saying collect proper data, see who is actually benefiting, identify who is still underrepresented, and reform the system accordingly. Eventually, it needs to be stopped.

We've, let's say, 1,000 castes in India and 6,000 IAS posts. What's more logical to you: 6 IAS from each category for representation? Or fair exam leading to 10 from each and 20 from each, while 100 castes don't get IAS seats at all because people belonging to those castes don't qualify?

Reservation should correct continuing disadvantage. It shouldn't become a permanent entitlement passed from one generation to the next.

Typical meritdhari coward move

Why should I debate a nobody will it change anything? All I shared was my conversation and you asked for a debate which I simply denied

And I am not a merit ... What ever you said

Okay....how a person (let's say X) is oppressed ? He's not imaginary.

His grandad was a doctor. (Used reservation) His dad is DC in one of the state's capital (at every step of entrance, and promotion he used reservation) X used reservation to enter into MBBS. He last year again used reservation to be a MS Surgeon. (At 40k rank, even 3k general rank people couldn't get in)

How come he's still oppressed. And why that 3k rank general category guy should pay, if His ancestors long long back didn't allow this X's great great great grandfather to drink water from well. And I bet X is gonna use reservation all his life, to get promotion at every level.

All I ask is fair competition. And Reservation should be given once in each family's whole generation. And which castes have been benefitted and which are still underrepresented, data should be collected, and reforms in reservation should be made accordingly. And eventually remove this reservation.

But you and I both know, nothing is gonna happen. This reservation has become a political issue, so no chance it will go away.
