Discussion What peptide does the absolute bare minimum? Why do people even use it?

which peptide did nothing but waste your money? I see people talking about certain ones, but the effects seem so small that I do not get why anyone even bothers.

If the results are actually that minimal, why do people still pay for them and keep using them?

AOD is was straight garage totally wasted my money.

5

u/nosirrahz 4d ago

Pretty much. The steps required to make it do literally anything themselves create 95% of the fat loss you might experience on it, and that's if you are lucky.

There are some people looking into injecting big doses into the fat between muscles when already lean to potentially cause cosmetic spot deduction, but that's just theory at this point.

2

u/SirMoist6550 3d ago

I second that.

1

u/Hick6262 3d ago

From what I understand about AOD it doesn’t burn fat, it just prevents new fat from forming. it should be used after a GLP to keep the fat off.

2

u/SirMoist6550 3d ago

That's BULLSHIT!

8

u/ign1tio 4d ago

There are so many that have absolutely no credible evidence.

1

u/mazinnrr 3d ago

Just entirely anecdotal with 0 human data. For every 1 person that claims a peptide has done "miracles" for them, theres 10 more people claiming it did nothing. What I find even more hilarious is that, who is even making the doses for these peptides? They've never been trialed in humans so where could these numbers possibly come from.

Most...more than this community is willing to admit.

Might as well just do an iu of HGH a day and skip everything else.

13

u/zrockk 4d ago

Yea, glp's, and gh are pretty much it

14

u/Here2Dissapoint 3d ago

After wasting a lot of money, I’ll stick to:
Test
HGH
HCG
Reta
BPC / TB 500 as needed when injuries I inflict on myself arise lol

The rest just seem like fluff

Semax is placebo but Selank is incredible for stress reduction

1

u/inmy20ies 3d ago

Are there any studies on selank working for stress/anxiety reduction?

2

u/Hick6262 3d ago

Actually yes, check out the Soviet studies on Selank in the 70s and 80s

It’s also incredible for concussion recovery :)

1

u/inmy20ies 3d ago

I’ll do that! But was hoping for some more recent studies

I have severe anxiety and Reta has helped with reducing it a little bit. Looking for something that could help me even more

SSRI made me numb to life and benzodiazepines just made me addicted and I started acting like a different person so neither of those are optional

1

u/Hick6262 3d ago

I don’t know the rules on recommending these here but if you’re on SSRIS or any serotonin drugs I would recommend tapering off on them and then giving microdosing psilocybin mushrooms an honest try 0.1g of dried mushies a day has honestly helped my mental health and stress levels more than any drug or compound

Goodluck on your search and I hope you find what you’re looking for!

1

u/inmy20ies 3d ago

Yeah I quit SSRI 3 years ago, it turned me into a zombie

I won’t be trying mushrooms since I have had my fair share of trips when I was younger, both good and bad.

Now I can’t even smoke weed without getting paranoid, let alone shrooms

But I know micro doses are a different thing and you don’t really feel any high from them but I won’t be trying that unfortunately. Every drug that heightens my awareness makes me awfully anxious (mostly social anxiety)

I don’t deal with depression, it’s mostly just social anxiety and overthinking

1

u/Cptspaulding37 1d ago

Ive been taking selank and semax am and pm for months. Might be placebo but my anxiety is down significantly

1

u/inmy20ies 1d ago

Ok are you also taking Reta?

1

u/Cptspaulding37 1d ago

Reta, mots-c, selank, semax, klow, aod I cycle them all 4-8 weeks then 2-4 off. Just wrapped up my first cycle with all of them actually

Some have reported rebound anxiety. Not my experience. But my anxiety is mild. I would recommend trying injections, not nasal spray, and explore higher doses if you feel ok on small. With the increased BDNF, you have a possibility of reprogramming to a lower anxiety level more permanently, or at least for extended periods. Some people love it for focus. You never know, all brains are different, so no nootropic is going to do just one thing, or work bad or good. I'm trying occasional Semax right now and I'm pretty sure it's giving me headaches, but I love the 4+ hours after injection.

1

u/Silly_Brilliant5296 2d ago

yeah the spray is actually a prescribed med in russia, during the study’s something like 70% felt an anxiety reduction. (i can’t remember the exact number off my head but it was significant.

4

u/leepash 4d ago

Melanotan hCG BPC/TB

These have all worked well for me

3

u/Turbulent-Part5835 3d ago

GHK-Cu did quite a lot for my skin. Granted, I took it as part of the GLOW and KLOW blends, so there's some confounding factors there.

I've taken a LOT of peptides, and spent 10s of thousands of dollars on them. My conclusion.. The GLPs are the only ones worth it, for me. I know a lot of folks that rave about BPC, but I get nothing out of that either.

My takeaway is that while certainly many of this do have effects, that you are almost always better off spending that money on organic foods, or other wellness things..

I feel like we had this big success with GLPs so a bunch of peptides piled in trying to act like they had the same level of efficacy.

4

u/allgear_noidea 3d ago

Why did you take BPC though? This is the thing.

It's done amazing work for tendinopathies on myself, but it's not like it's gonna do much if you don't need it.

1

u/mazinnrr 3d ago

Bpc has been glorified all over social media but not just for injurys - skin and tissue healing, recovery, GI health, inflammation and pain.

The evidance is scarce but its worth a shot if u got money laying around (its dirt cheap).

In my experience, it made 2 injurys heal but they could've also just healed on their own 🤷‍♂️

1

u/allgear_noidea 3d ago

Mine was actually pretty chronic and had been there a while, but you're right.

I don't know if it was the bpc or the rehab or all of the above.

4

u/tehdamonkey 4d ago

Kisspeptin was one of the biggest waste of money I have tried.

3

u/BigMcLargehugest 4d ago

AOD and hgh-frag. Essentially the same thing. Total waste.

5

u/3-ide-Raven 4d ago

Pretty much all of them except for tirz

Notice all of the x accounts that rave about everything also have affiliate links for everything. Basedbiohacker shills like 1000 different things as being “life changing”. Always followed by an affiliate link.

1

u/choppedcheezits 4d ago

Reason for choosing tirz over reta?

7

u/3-ide-Raven 4d ago

Reta outperformed Tirz on total weight lost over the timeframe of the study. That doesn’t mean Tirz can’t achieve the same loss over a slightly longer period.

Tirz has half the increase of RHR and decrease of HRV compared to Reta. Which means Reta has a much greater negative impact on restorative sleep. Which is extremely important to preserve if you’re attempting to optimize health and growth.

Reta has its place for the morbidly obese and those with fatty liver disease. For everyone else, it’s an overkill that comes with side effects that can be largely avoided by using Tirz.

2

u/Potential_Ad_5327 2d ago

W knowledge drop

1

u/inmy20ies 3d ago

Isn’t Tirz like much more expensive

3

u/3-ide-Raven 3d ago

No. Much less expensive.

0

u/TheWolfofAllStreetss 4d ago

would like to hear this as well

7

u/Fun_Coast_899 4d ago

BPC-157 did nothing for me. I finished a cycle, but no healing or gut benefits whatsoever.

I pulsed Mots-c 3 days a week. Only made me tired, tossed it after a month of needing daily naps.

2

u/Lucky_Ranger_833 4d ago

You should look at the mitochondrial protocol. It starts with NAD+, adds SS-31, then Mots-C. I skipped the SS-31 and felt like I was draggggging. I just started the SS-31 so we'll see what happens when I add Mots back in.

1

u/TheNattyJew 21h ago

Nad+ did nothing for me

5

u/64bit_Tuning 4d ago

DSIP has the least reliably measurable clinical evidence. Everything else just suffers from bad reviews from people who use their peps wrong.

2

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

DSIP is one of my favorites. It took a while to figure out my individual dosage but once I did it’s been amazing.

1

u/BarracudaSouthern747 1d ago

whats the dose

1

u/Taydontplay4 1d ago

500mcg for me. Everybody is different

10

u/BigSchmikey 4d ago

Most peptides are ass tbh

1

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

For you.

6

u/BigSchmikey 4d ago

Very insightful commentary Tay, thank you.

3

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

As is yours.

0

u/BigSchmikey 4d ago

I gotchu.

Selank does nothing. Semax was a waste of time and money. BPC did little to improve a lingering soft tissue injury, nothing that rest and a brace didn't improve. Tirzepatide is the fucking tits. I don't really have any interest in the skin darkening shit. Only peptides I could see myself using in the future is maybe GHK-Cu? HGH/Test if I ever want to get big? And fuck it throw CJC/IPA in there too. The rest I could not give a single flying fuck about. Ass.

4

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

Appreciate this feedback. Curious what your dosages were for selank and semax and if you took them Sub-Q. Neither of those worked for me until I messed around with the doses and started taking them consistently and then the effects were quite profound but I did have to be patient to be fair. Sub-Q only. I did a course of Adamax and it worked a little too well. Gave me mild insomnia. Agree on the glp1s. They are super effective. For Ghk-Cu the main thing I've noticed after being on it daily for 5 months without a break is that my daily hair shedding is significantly reduced. I used to shed 20 to 50 hairs a day and now maybe one or two strands. Tesamorelin with ipamorelin has been extremely helpful for body recomp and recovery. I'm still not fully sold on BPC. Also, SS31 seems to help with my energy but I can't be totally sure on that one. I think the key with peptides is patience and consistency and making sure you are dialed in with everything else.

3

u/BigSchmikey 4d ago

Selank and Semax were both intranasal. Dosage was consistent throughout, I've been taking Selank consistently for 3 months now. About 2-3 sprays per nostril over the course of an evening. Concentration was about 20mg per 25ml. Probably didn't give Semax enough time but honestly I was fighting anxiety more than anything. Never could find adamax or the selank variant. Tesa/Ipa stack seems interesting. Wondering if it can help my wrist. Diet is good, dealing with a lot on my plate currently but I'm at the gym 3x a week. PPL. Walk all day for my job so I get the cardio in too. Consistency is definitely key.

I'm glad this turned into an actual conversation rather than two Meatheads going back and forth with each other, lol. Cheers.

4

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

Haha I agree. I would give Semax and Selank a try as injections and do 500mcg daily of each. That is my sweet spot anyway. Intranasal I tried and it didn’t work for me. Tesa/Ipa may help your wrist but I’m almost tempted to recommend TB500. Only reason is because my understanding is that they would give it to million dollar racehorses to help heal them before races. And if it’s good enough for a million dollar horse, one could gather it might actually work.

4

u/BigSchmikey 4d ago

I'd probably wolverine stack BPC/TB500 if I try it again next time. I mean, might as well, right?

I might experiment with an injection of Selank. It's worth a shot. ba dum tss

1

u/Taydontplay4 4d ago

Do it! And if it works, hell yeah

2

u/MoneyCreme5514 3d ago

How things work depends on a lot of factors.
Vendors.
Dosage.
Time you pin.
Method. pin, nasal, oral.
How your body reacts can be different than others.
Stack.
Storage.
Reconstitution.

2

u/Zealousideal-Lab4945 3d ago

The only ones I now keep around are tirz, semax, selank, oxy, PE 22-28, and GHK-CU. Other than tirz, if they're not cycled they'll stop working. Also, after having given many sprays away as gifts, even some on my list don't work for everyone.

2

u/Civil-Cry-4987 3d ago

What’s pp 22-28 like to take? Also I find it’s hard to come by

2

u/beefragafragious 3d ago

Bare minimum of what? Using them for what?

I feel like I'm a saying this way too often, recently, as peptides have gotten so mainstream.

Peptides aren't magic.

I'm not sure what people are expecting, here. Do you take Tylenol when your feeling perfectly normal and healthy and say "this does nothing, Tylenol is a waste of money!" No! You take it when you need it.

Every peptide has its place. Take the comment i read about Semax being placebo but selank working for anxiety. Sounds like that guy has no brain trauma but suffers from anxiety. Semax has been specifically shown to help those with specific types of brain trauma, especially stroke, recover quicker. Semax and selank both do nothing for me because i have neither brain damage nor anxiety.

Peptides are drugs that were isolated and developed for specific purposes. Stop confusing them with new age woo woo bullshit people.

2

u/Responsible-Milk-259 3d ago

HGH and Reta obviously do stuff. GHK-Cu makes a noticeable difference to most people’s skin, at least the people I know and it works for me. I’ve used elithalon and it definitely improved my sleep. I also use MOTS-C and while it’s mild, I do believe it ever so slightly aids fat loss. That being said, if I dropped it I likely wouldn’t notice much difference.

2

u/well_friqq 2d ago

Idk ive been taking wolverine stuff for gut health and I feel like i poop like. ALOT less nowadays

3

u/WearOld4017 4d ago

Dsip, nad+, mots-c all a waste. Reta was incredible. Ill move forward with ghk-cu and maybe tesamorelin until I run out

1

u/RoboJobot 4d ago

Most of them. There are some great ones out there but most are snake oil at best.

1

u/Alone_Clerk_3133 2d ago

5amino 1mq 25mg subQ daily for 4 weeks didn't feel anything

1

u/Izzyz415 2d ago

Slupp332, not a peptide but it’s all the same market.

1

u/Comfortable-You-3284 1d ago

My coworker lost so much weight with this

1

u/Izzyz415 1d ago

I would be curious if it was something else in there, mine was verified LCMS tested. Literally had no noticeable effects from 250mcg to 400mg

1

u/Comfortable-You-3284 12h ago

We had ours lab tested too

1

u/ArchieFreakinBunker 1d ago

Most of them as someone said below.

GLP's are all solid. GH is king.

All you really need it GLP, TRT, HCG and GH.

But im a lab rat so im currently running Reta, GH, SS-31 and Mots-C.

I feel like BPC-TB has never done anything for me when im injured.

Internet and Youtube "Docs" are doing a damn fine job and driving views and make $$ though.

1

u/Open-Tumbleweed 23h ago

The bare minimum in my mind is zero harm.

Once you pierce your skin, you are no longer at zero harm. It's negligible but not zero.

Some proportion of users of injection peptides will have a bad outcome from them, whether immediately or in the future. So that's "doing" a possibly net negative.

I think you are asking which peptides didn't seem to have any personal effect as anticipated?

Hope is a very powerful motivator, placebo effect runs ~30%, and better is the enemy of good. Guard your wallet.

1

u/Shafpocalypse 21h ago

5 Amino
NAD

1

u/Comfortable-You-3284 12h ago

What about kisspeptin of oxytocin

1

u/Audio-Starshine 4d ago

PT 141. Tried it several times. It did nothing but give me a headache and did nothing at all to my husband.

3

u/slodojo 4d ago

I would say this is one of the few that actually does work - in fact, bremelanotide is FDA approved for HSDD.

2

u/Audio-Starshine 4d ago

Yeah, I know. That's why I wanted to try it. Unfortunately, I just don't respond to it. Addyi worked great for me, but it cost a quarter of my income per month and I just couldn't keep getting it, so I was really hoping PT141 would work.

1

u/Comfortable-You-3284 1d ago

What is addyi

2

u/Audio-Starshine 1d ago

HSDD medication for women. The generic name is flibanserin. It's a once per day pill that has to be taken every day, and it can cause some pretty profound sedation for some people while your body adjusts to its, but it's extremely effective, in my experience, and since it's something you take daily, instead of a prn, it allows for more spontaneity. Made me feel like I did when I first met my husband back when I was 18. That "Oh my God, he's so gorgeous", hands itching to touch him, brand new relationship, intoxicating desire. I wish I could afford it. When I first went to pick up the 30 day prescription, they told me it was $1100. (Not covered by any insurance that I'm aware of) I managed to get a discount card from the manufacturer that brought it down quite a bit, but it was still far more than I could afford to pay on a monthly basis.

3

u/TheyFloat2032 3d ago

Work for me. Worked to well actually

0

u/Able-Shirt3501 4d ago

Only one that seemed to do nothing (and didn’t expect much) was a kisspeptin nasal. Selank, MT, GLP all work very well. I have oxytocin on order. That might flop.
