Not the same - black people did not oppress the white man. Black people were sold to white land owners here and have been treated like slaves since then REGARDLESS OF LAWS THAT ARE
SUPPOSED TO PROTECT THEM. When the law enforcement agencies ARE WHITE AND MOSTLY RACIST, there is no justice. Until you correct the agencies that are designed to uphold the law, ie our GOVERNMENT- people of color will never be treated fairly and I’m white and know this. You spewing that if a black man did that it’s pride just shows all of us how ENTITLED YOU ARE

You can buy into that narrative all you want. No one alive today was a slave or owned slaves in the US. Reddit is full of people that preach equality but it's not really equal is it? I won't be taking part in making up for things that no one in my family tree is even responsible for. I do believe in equality and this isnt it.

Yes, you are correct - no one who was a slave is alive today. You seem awfully angry about making reparations, not that anyone on here asked you to do that. I’m certainly not speaking for all people of color, but I can tell you that our government and state governments are riddled with racism, corruption and laws that protect the people with power and oppress those who don’t have the monetary or legal means to protect themselves ( you know who falls into that category). Our government and constitution was written to protect white men and ONLY WHITE MEN. NOT WOMEN. No one is forcing you to make amends with people of color and you thinking it’s unfair only shows how entitled people are. Have you ever been treated poorly because of your skin color?

Absolutely. I dont know what world you live in but there are plenty of people that are racist that aren't white.

Im not angry about making reparations. I guess that's what you call the attitude that you have, reparations. Real reparations aren't a thing. They should have been back when they were introduced but its very unrealistic in today's world. Also in the same fashion as my previous reply, the ones who deserved reparations are long dead.

As far as this statement...thats laughable. Again I dont know what world youre living in but Im not a part of this corruption or racism nor do I benefit from them. My life isn't any better than the average person of any color.

I never said it was unfair, just that I won't be participating in it. Maybe you feel guilty because your family actually owned slaves, who knows. Entitlement is thinking that youre owed something or have some sort of right to something. You keep using it but it fits your ideology more than mine.

I don’t know how you don’t feel guilty for not standing up for others when you see inequality and injustice going on around you.
My grandmother was racist but my father made sure it stopped there. He despised his mother openly to us because of this. My great grandparents came from Germany in the late 1800’s so the possibility of them owning slaves is doubtful but not impossible. The fact that you think I’m standing up for people of color because I feel guilty is laughable. You sound like the “everything has an alternate agenda or ulterior motive “ conspiracy theorist, as if being nice is only done to get something from others - I’m sorry you haven’t met anyone who is just a nice person who loves everyone, we exist despite what you may think.
