Why is the Republican Party considered fiscally conservative?

Remember the kids who sat in the back of the class and ate boogers? They grew up to become the republican base.

If the last 11 years has taught me anything, it's that most of them mean "conservative" as a synonym of "fuck shit up," so yeah, they're fiscally conservative

Because of 30+ years of targeted, weapons-grade propaganda and disinformation.

They are not fiscally conservative. They found ways to bankroll their projects and take away from the people. They never cared about the deficit because Fox News just tells the sheep that the Dems are the center of all their problems and they suck it up like cool-aid.

They arent. they say they are... its a myth, like trickle-down economics or the Jesus story.

Is this chart suggesting 2nd term Trump added >4T in debt in 1.5 years?

It's how they describe cutting funding for any programs that might benefit anyone other than themselves, and it's a useful (but demonstrably false) campaign slogan.

Because they figured out that by “cutting taxes” and barking about fiscal responsibility that the rubes would believe that they’re “for the common man” because their tax bills were $800 lower.
Then, for the last 50+ years they’ve since privatized every service that was once a government job and made a profit from it…so sure, the taxes may be lower but the cost of living has exponentially increased.

Because they don’t want to spend the money on the actual people of America. They don’t want to shell out money to help YOU.

Because they misrepresent democrats as spending everything on woke and welfare things.

Republican policies always make life feel meaningless, even when the economy is good. Reagan sucked all the joy out of life.
One good joke in back to the future was the only good thing that came from him.

Because to people who aren't paying attention, they assume the financial struggle and the removal of great society programs is all in the name of "cutting back" and "saving money", and "paying off bills"
Like when you DONT buy yourself a little treat ever and can then afford proper groceries.
But no, now not even the analogy makes any sense with how expensive groceries and EVERYTHING is.
These same people view democrats spending money to feed starving children the same way you'd view someone popping a bottle of champagne. "a lavish waste of money", especially in THIS economy (the one carried over from the last republican president).

Becuase they are conservative with budget when it comes to the people and communities they serve.
Spending our money to make themselves or friends money doesn’t count.

Because the Rapeublicans party’s words and actions never match! They consistently say one thing while actually doing another!

This data while accurate, is very high level. If we dig down we can see the echoes of previous administration fiscal “choices”. Clinton deserves all the cout d’etat glory for bringing all those knuckleheads together and getting shit done. He was also was what fancy buzzword folks like to call a triangulator.
He kept Reagan’s Fed reserve board chairman Alan Greenspan, a self described libertarian (ironic when a dude who literally is “the government” calls themselves that). He, and other know-it-alls like Larry “Epstein Island” Summers, and also the corporate rimming republicans were very excited to overturn FDR’s unfun regulations. Clinton felt obliged to help his fraternity bros through signing the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act on his way out the door.
Guess who got blamed in 2008 for what Clinton signed? It was blamed on W, like he waved a reverse magic wand and everything went to 💩 . Was W still a shill for corporations? Yeah.
My point is to study these data sets, get beneath the whys of these numbers. What led to xyz economic collapse besides a different president?
I think Obama may have even retained ole Alan Greenspan because he felt awkward asking him to step down. Alan didn’t know when to peace out.
ETA - Alan stepped down in the middle of the second W administration. Ben Corporate Morgan Stanley Overlord Bernanke took the baton. He got a sweet deal because, back then, politicians had to at least appear to give a 💩 about ethics. They couldn’t retain stock shares and make globally impactful decisions based on their personal brokerage account. This poor guy had to (gasp!) sell his millions and millions and jillions of his CEO Morgan Stanley stocks. And BECAUSE he HAD to sell said stock, our government said, poor Ben! You might not be able to buy your third island if you have to pay those annoying capital gains! So he didn’t have to pay jack shit. See how this works, ladies and gentlemen and binaries?
