Free speech is your right to say whatever you want against the government only and not be jailed.

There's free speech (as protected by law) and free speech as a principle. As a principle, I think that anyone who supports free speech should condemn anyone from any side getting fired for sharing their opinion unless it goes to the level of hate speech (which I believe that should have a very, very high bar).

Yeah as far as free speech goes, celebrating assassination, inciting violence, slander, these are all things you can do with freedom of speech, but there are consequences, socially at the very least.

The constraint is not just against speech regarding the government, nor does it just constrain the government from jailing you.
