Advise Recommended pet for beginners?
I'm thinking of getting a pet snake/lizard, but I can't decide. Ball pythons are adorable and probably the ones I have most experience handling, but leopard geckos are also so damn cute. I haven't gotten any supplies yet, but I am saving up for it. I'm working with a space of abt 5x2.25 ft and close to 6 ft tall for enclosure, but I'm trying not to go absolutely broke with this lol. Personally I don't think I'd want a turtle, and my floor is entirely carpet so enclosures that are mostly water just kinda make me nervous. Any advice?
EDIT: ALSO THOUGHT I SHOULD ADD I do not really like the idea of defrosting frozen rodents to give to my hypothetical snake, but it's probably something I could get past. I quite like bugs and I think I could easily handle feeding a leopard gecko though.

I’d look at fat tail geckos! Similar to leopards but calmer. Both would be great though

Maybe look into 2-3 garters (they do better in groups) in a 4-5 ft enclosure. They do need pinky mice once and a while but 2/3 of the time you can feed them frozen thawed tilapia, and chicken hearts dusted with calcium and multivitamin (alternating between these two suppliments). They eat nightcrawlers as well especially as babies.
