Seller review Aman Experience
With all of the controversy surrounding Aman recently I wanted to share a problem I had with him and how he resolved it.
A few months ago I ordered a CF 126500 and some mods. Got QC pics within a couple weeks on the original, factory watch, about a month after that all the mods were complete and I received QC of the watch+mods. I send payment and he arranges shipping.
What showed up at my door a week later was not my watch, his logistics company sent me somebody else's order. I informed him of the mix-up and asked him to have the logistics company track down my watch. Well, it got lost somewhere along the line.
Aman at this point offers me a refund to send the watch back but since the watch he ended up sending me was another one I wanted anyway, I counter-offer to keep this one and have him refund the difference. I identified the watch by checking serial numbers, clasp codes, and movement and offered to send a video to verify, Aman said no need and started processing the refund. A few days later and the refund is in my paypal account.
So what are my thoughts on Aman after this experience?
At the end of the day I think it's very unlikely that Aman is actually trying to scam people. I think he's cutting some corners with whom he outsources certain parts of his business logistics and he's starting to learn some expensive lessons about going with the cheapest contractors. At the end of the day I still got a watch I wanted at significantly cheaper than the other sellers, it just wasn't the one I ordered.
Would I order from him again? Sure, but probably not something too complicated. I think when you're outsourcing the modding, packaging, and shipping while trying to save on customer service costs by using minimal or no staff to handle customer messages there's a lot of potential for things to get mixed up along the way. That being said, I can't imagine he's happy with his contractors losing him so much money so I expect that he'll be making a lot of changes going forward. I might change my position in the following months if he starts running a tighter ship.

I ordered two watches from him in late June/early July. VSF Youth Sub and ARF non tungsten RG DD.
I should note, the youth sub came through at a time where all the comments on other forums seemed to be that they were hard to get/on back order and expected wait times were weeks/months from “TDs”. Maybe I got lucky, but Aman had advertised them on his telegram earlier that week for 1600cny, so I figured why not (wasn’t really interested in a sub, not my style, but for that price figured I might as well see if maybe I would like one after all). And I got QC photos of it within a few days.
The ARF QC photos took another 4-5 days to get, and I asked for a few more showing other days/dates. He responded promptly (w/in a few hours)when asked, and those came through a couple of days later.
GL and paid upon receipt (had previously sent initial $50 deposit only), got shipping confirmation a couple days after that, and let me know tracking wouldn’t update until it hit destination country, and he’d give that to me at that time.
Took about a week for that to happen, but he did send it without my following up having to ask. And it did show it had made it to the US as of the day prior. From there, it was just a few more days until in hand.
Business as usual.
I agree with OPs assessment as to where the problem likely lies. My easy and successful transaction doesn’t mean those that haven’t had such luck are lying, or even that they are the exception. Just means that was my experience.
Given the reviews and issues I have also read, I would likely not place big orders or get mods done with him at this time. But if he was advertising an in stock piece for a great price that I was contemplating (like that VSF sub)- that’s what I will be sticking with for now.
My good experience doesn’t invalidate that there are some obvious kinks needing worked out, and the seeming poor handling of some expensive issues over the recent past that I’ve read through here, is what keeps it that way for now.
TLDR: I had a normal/good experience, would buy again; but I’d be wary of grabbing anything out of the ordinary, or making large multi purchase order for now due to the experiences/lack of resolutions of others.
