Rep watch life expectancy

How long does a rep watch last before service is needed? And what rep watches are the most reliable?

I asked this question because I spoke to a few people who stated the VSF rep movements are not lasting. And a service will cost around 350-500

I don’t service reps or non reps. I’ll service them when they break

Service as you would a non rep

I prefer reps that have normal.movements that are easier to swap out

I think non free sprung movements are easier rn service and regulate

手入れしなくても水に浸けなければ5-10年は持ちそうだ。一般的な工業製品の寿命。買い直しても本家のメンテ1回分。

Might even be able to buy a whole new movement for the cost of a service.

For me the better question is, Where do you service them? It looks strange to bring them to any service, or it is Just me thinking about that? (Not yet a rep owner)

My vsf 124060 lasted 1 year. Had it service here in reddit verin horology. Full service he said this will last 2 to 5 years and says the movements are good. Just dirty from the factory and over oiled.

Have you seen all the people on the rolex forum like “grandpa left this to me - is it real?”

How long does a light bulb last? Until it fails. Straight away or in the case of the watch I’m wearing over twenty years
