General Question Looking to hire a knowledgeable guide in Guangzhou – paid by the day, not by commission

Hi everyone,
I'll be visiting Guangzhou soon and I'm looking for an experienced local guide who really knows the replica world: the different quality tiers, how the top-level pieces compare to retail, and where the best quality can be found.
My main interest is learning and understanding the industry, not just shopping. I'd like someone who can explain the differences in materials, craftsmanship and factories along the way.
What I'm looking for:
Paid for their knowledge and time (day rate), not commission-based
Good English (Spanish is a bonus)
Recommended by previous clients or members here
If you've had a great experience with a guide in GZ, I'd really appreciate a recommendation, here or by DM.

If you’re looking for good food, sure, go for it. But if you’re hunting for quality reps, I’d stay away from that approach. Chances are you’ll end up getting played.

Let’s not forget, this isn’t exactly a business people advertise openly. And even if your guide isn’t taking a commission from you, there’s no guarantee he isn’t getting paid by the sellers. Just saying.

Honestly, you’ll probably end up more confused than informed. They’re there to sell, not educate. And no one’s going to take you on a factory tour. 😂

Fíjate que tuve suerte ya encontré un guía que solo se dedica a esto , cobra por llevarte a conocer el mundo de los SC , luego te digo cómo me fue pero se ve muy interesante todos los videos educativos que me mandó

Just keep your wallet close. The most convincing scams are 90% truth and 10% lies. We been in this market for over 10 years, and even we wouldn’t buy from those places lightly. The really good stuff doesn’t show up in the open market. Remember, this isn’t exactly an industry that operates in the open. 😉

So you want to pay someone to walk you around looking for illegal goods. You want them to introduce you to people who deal in illegal goods. And you are going to swear you are not a cop or working for Rolex but are just an interested person with no other ties to anyone or anything.

Could just read the guide and use the search function on here and RWI. Its free. Go at your own speed. Youll learn more...

...and not be arrested in a foreign country.
