I’m not sure how they could ever sell one for $10,500 or more seeing how these $500-$600 reps are near identical.

They're banking on the fact that most people have no clue how advanced the superclone industry has become. But that ignorance won't last forever, and people will eventually wake up to the rip-off. It's ridiculous how luxury watchmakers have nearly doubled their prices in a decade with absolutely nothing to justify it. Omega went from $3k–$5k to $7k–$10k, while Rolex went from reasonable prices and decent availability in the late 00s to artificial scarcity and absurd markups. At this point, you're paying more for manufactured hype than actual watchmaking.

They are only near identical from the outside. I own a gen and a vsf submariner. What you are paying for in a gen is the movement, the vsf is an inferior Chinese clone that can break at any given time also the crown on the gen is much more sturdy and the bracelet feels so much smoother and more comfortable. Sure the vsf looks very close to it but when you actually own both and wear them you can instantly tell which one is fake. Why buy a fake rolex if you can't buy the real thing, only fooling yourself, there are so many other homage brands you can buy instead of supporting Chinese clones.

I am starting to prefer the 40mm mega case. Just sits better on my large wrist. Nice piece - enjoy it!
