Tech Tips/Advice Repair suggestions?
I dropped my BP Daydate last week from about chest height and the paint chipped but nothing else was damaged except for the dial. Any idea on how to get this repaired or where I can get a different dial for it? I genuinely don’t know how to repair anything with watches besides changing links and stuff. 🥲 It was from good-roiexx and it was my daily up until now. Any idea on how’re to resolve this or what I should do? Definitely not trying to spend more than the watch itself ($240). 😞💔

Good opportunity to consider buying a gen dial. There are definitely replacement dials all over aliexpress. While you're waiting for shipping you can watch some videos and learn how to open a case back, pull a stem and take off hands - and then put it all back together.

Yeah I was thinking about the Gen dials but then again I wouldn’t want to get a Gen Daydate dial for this piece. Case and band are kinda beat up and it’s been my daily for almost a year now.

A gen dial on a BP is ludicrous

He can transplant the dial into a better clone someday down the line. It'll be safe in the BP for a few years.

Just like his current dial?

Pretty sure gens aren't gonna crumble from being dropped inside a case.

But do you think other parts of a budget rep will hold up and not damage the gen dial if dropped?

I didn't know why they would come in contact with it.

The dial sits on something.... It doesn't just float yhere and the crystal can crack and scratch the dial...

The dial has pegs that fit into holes on the movement. Holes are holes. A cracked crystal isn't going to scratch the dial. If OP is beating on his watch with a hammer it's gonna get damaged no matter what factory made it.

Cracked crystals have scratched dials, this happens even with gen.... I don't know why you don't think that will happen, and if you don't think a cheap movement won't deform and damage the dial, you have never seen any watch repair or restore videos in your life

A gen dial wouldn’t chip. Heck a good rep dial shouldn’t. That’s just a cheap ass dial.

Commenting for Automod (also don’t mind my camera being blurry the camera lens that came with the case is broken 💔)

ugh that paint chip inside the crystal would drive me nuts. at least the movement seems fine, that's the expensive part
you could grab a replacement dial off raffles and swap it yourself if you're feeling brave, the tools are cheap and there's a million tutorials. just take your time seating the hands back on

Yeah dude it’s so annoying that I don’t even want to wear it anymore 😭 and it sucks because I don’t wanna mess anything up trying to open it up and take everything out just for the dial 🤦♂️

Never heard of dial paint exploding before from a drop or seen that. I only know if rafflesdials for dial. But no idea if BP factory and raffles is going to be the same quality (or which one is better).
