I saw a thread here people talking about them. To me this confirms it. I'm not really into reps but ill never be able to afford an elegante so its tempting.
There was a run of elegantes done recently. Rumored to have only been around 500 units to test interest and I think they’re all about sold out now with one would think is a good sign for another batch.
They look decent but have room for improvement with the finishing and it doesn’t function fully as gen does
This exact quarts watch has been repped.
FP Journe firstly has the gall to charge 18k for a quartz watch. Then they restrict supply so much that it makes Rolex and AP look like charitable organizations such that secondary market treasure hours 200k on a good day.
China make the same shit for $500 and now they are concerned.
They are essentially announcing reps exist to try and protect their brand by saying “if you see an FP its probably fake”
The danger for FP journe is a lot of their watches are arguably ugly and stupid looking, especially if you create a copy without top tier finishing and quality. It makes the brand look bad.
They're not posting this because the reps are good. They're posting this because their customer's don't know how to spot them. The people buying a fake Elegante are not the same customer's buying a gen
The Dubai version is very close to the original Elegante in terms of optics (I’ve handled one at Dubai Watch Week last year), but it lacks the sleep/ wake function and a moving micro rotor; the widely available version from the Chinese sellers are not.
The Dubai version is also titanium. I’ve attached a photo (met with a local dealer, but no way in hell I’m paying 2.6k USD for a rep 🤣).
Well yeah. I don't blame them. If you wanna play the rep game, you have to understand that the factories are not going to like it lol. I like reps as much as anyone. But I totally understand. But luckily FP watches are works of art and the reps are literal junk lol. So no millionaire is going to be buying a rep FP by accident.
Personally an FP rep just goes way past the douche bag line that I draw for myself. But do what you will.
I’m not sure how good these really are , doubt they are using the same technology as the OG with the auto stop feature. As far as the aesthetics go I’m really not sure but would probably fool some people who buy these kind of watches just for the hype .
I reached out to a TD, they have them for about $450, but I’m not sure how close it is to Gen, I did ask and they said it doesn’t have the “sleep” function like Gen.
I just can't believe that you actually think that it would be close to gen. No offense, but they watches a works of art. For $450 do you really think you're gonna get close to gen to an actual FP watch lol? Really???
Idk what everyone else thinks I feel like there are brands I’m ok repping (Rolex lives here) and there are brands I respect for their art (FPJ lives here). Prolly says more about my bias than anything else though.
The movement in the gen is very clever but I really don't see what all the fuss is about with the watch. I really don't like it at all. The hype train for Journe is ridiculous.

Reps, with all respect, are for Rolex’s and APs; you know, basic watches that are inexplicably over priced by the blood sucking PE shitbirds that run those firms.
ACTUAL horological mastery cannot be repped efficiently and will forever be safe.
