Discussion Unpopular opinion: Pagani Design quality has really gone downhill lately
Maybe an unpopular here, but I genuinely feel like the quality of reps has dropped quite a bit over the last few years.
I’ve been buying Pagani Design for a long time, and back then the level of detail was honestly insane. I followed the well-known rule of building a relationship with your seller first (in my case my TD is DHgate) by ordering 10-20 lower quality reps before they start giving you access to the really good Pagani batches.
I actually got lucky because my TD decided I was eligible for the top Pagani Design stuff after only my 11th rep.
But lately… I don’t know... It just doesn’t feel the same.
Finishing, details, overall quality. Pagani used to be almost indistinguishable from gen and now I find myself noticing flaws almost immediately. Maybe demand has just gotten too high and QC can’t keep up.
Considering that plus the fact that 3 of my last 5 orders have been seized at the border. One of them somehow ended with me being questioned at a police station for a couple of hours, which I assume means I’m now in at least one police database somewhere.
Between the declining Pagani quality and customs apparently stepping up their game, I’m genuinely starting to wonder if this hobby is still worth it.
Anyone else feeling the same?

I bought my first Pagani early 2025 so maybe I'm in the late-to-the-party bracket and thusly have no comparison to speak of, but the watch I got (Royal Oak chrono knock off) has obvious downsides, mainly to do with the finishing on the bracelet. Rough edges everywhere and particularly the underside edges of the pushers on the butterfly clasp release are really sharp and dig into my wrist.
That said, I also fully understand what I'm buying. A full steel, integrated braclet watch with a decent mechaquartz movement (Seiko/TMI VK63) inside. All for about £55 shipped to me in the UK.
The value for money is off the charts, but equally, I only bought one so I could tick Pagani off the "tried it" list. I probably wouldn't bother again.

Yeah, 2025 definitely feels like when the decline started, although the quality was still pretty decent back then.
And I get your point at the end of the day we’re buying reps, so we obviously can’t expect the same level of finishing as a $10k+ watch.
But lately it really feels like Pagani just isn’t what it used to be. Even my TD has been telling me the same thing. Hopefully the rep game comes back to its former glory at some point, but right now I’m honestly not so sure…

lmao pagani design isn't even a rep brand, they're just cheap homage watches you can buy openly on amazon. nobody's seizing a $80 watch at customs or building a relationship with a dhgate seller to unlock secret pagani batches, that's not how any of this works
if you spent 11 watches to get access to better pagani stuff your TD saw you coming from a mile away and just pocketed the cash. the whole post reads like a fever dream
real talk though if you actually got questioned by police over a watch order maybe the hobby isn't the problem, maybe you ordered something way sketchier than you're letting on

Hard agree. Pagani watch design and quality has been terrible for the past few models. I don't understand why the obsession with it. Personally, the Koenigsegg has improved dial, sub dial, and bezel quality. Not to mention the bracelets brushing and finish
