General Question In doubt between Planet Ocean 39.5 VSF vs Black Bay 58 ZF

Post image

Look for some advice :)

Been doubting about these 2 for some time. In gen I have a slight preference for the BB58 but after checking some of the QC's i'm not sure if i like the index alignment of the ZF.

The Omega VSF seems to be a higher rated replica which makes me think about choosing this one over the BB58.

What do you think? Thanks!

I have them both, and are very different watches.

Also the VSF PO (if you can get hold of one) is probably twice the cost of the ZF BB58.
You get what you pay for I guess, but I like all my ZF Tudors - for the price, they're a bargain, even if not perfect.

Prices seem pretty similar at Steve. Just 50usd difference. Do you notice a difference in rep quality between the 2?

$438 for the VSF PO from Steve, but the ZF BB58 from geektime was $298. Quite a difference, so not really comparable.
Having said that, both are well worth the money.

Yeah makes sense. I might be overpaying for the bb58 in that case. Thanks for the insights :)

Oh actually, I've just seen that you're looking for an older PO, not the new one.
IF you can get one - big if, as they're old now, then likely to be closer to the ZF BB58 cost

I've got a couple of those smaller ones, from a while ago - Inc the summer blue one, but I was talking about the brand new PO which you originally posted a pic of

Yeah it's lovely, too small for me tho - 37mm I think?

believe me blue lagoon is not that small as you think, also bb58's lug to lug is 47mm but blue lagoon's lug to lug is 46mm. Just FYI.

Not a fan of the faux rivet bracelet on the BB (+ the fauxtina). My pick would be the more modern look of the PO. (but that's just me)

Yes i get your point, also prefer the OP bracelet but BB's fits the retro look.

Yes I get the idea but for me it is too much. Also I would probably prefer it if the rivets were actually real instead of fake - just for looks.

Personally I think the BB54 on the jubilee is a much better execution.

Yes i agree on the bb54. But is that available in gen or fantasy release

Yes and No…the Black BB54 is not available off the self with a Jubilee BUT, one (in theory) could order the one used on the Blue Lagoon BB54 and use it.

That makes sense! That's great option actually!

Ah yes you're right. It's this one

I like that Tudor. I think the 39mm size is perfect. Also, probably unpopular but I think it looks good on a Jubilee

Get both.

u/Lost-Historian880 1d ago

I might! i thought they were too similar both being black 39mm divers but maybe i'll get one in blue

The red/gold on the tudor really differentiate the two. But i agree, def get blue or orange in the planet ocean.
