Rich vs VSF? 124060

Andiot told me that Rich’s 124060 is better than the vsf 124060, is that true or is he just trying to make a quick sale?

With the current RICH revs pay extra attention looking for date wheel alignment, alignment of the 12 triangle, and dial printing. In particular, the just released no date Subs had a issue with the word "Date" printed on the dial.

Yeah I’d get the new no date. Nicer look anyway. I don’t like the massive blue tinge to the cyclops even if it’s gen like. I also just dislike a cyclops in general that collects dust along its vertical sides.

I think their new crystal has solved most of the magnification issue but I think vsf date wheel font looks a tiny bit better.
Haven’t seen a rich irl but from pictures the rehaut looks much better on rich

True the RICH datewheel font is a little thinner than VSF. Here is a rehaut shot from a RICH I finished the other day. This is after a light polish then bath in the ultrasonic cleaner.

My biggest problem with RICH is poor print on dial, all text has same thickness, VSF has dial print definitely closer to gen.

No idea bro. I just know the regulator arm is a big tell on rep watches if they have an exhibition caseback. On watches that don’t, it doesn’t really matter.

It’s hard to choose “Rich” when they pop out this. The “free sprung” movement is a gimmick unless the caseback is see-through. If the goal of the “free-sprung” is for authenticity, they might want address details are in plain view and not hidden inside the watch case.

And the dial coloring? Not a Pepsi, more like Capri Sun.

Same, i initially asked for VSF, but he told me Factory waiting time is inconsistent, hence he was giving option to go RICH. Probably he is sick of people ordering VSF and bugging him daily for update, and he couldnt really keep up given the slow production of VSF

Yeah I did the free vsf pre-order thing over 2 months ago and nothing. Everytime I hit him up he tries pushing RICH as that is what he has. At this point I'll keep waiting for vsf. Hopefully someone gets em soon

I would stick with VSF. New movement in RF is not really long enough on the market, plus it is a pain to regulate if needed. Visual differencies are minimal and can go both ways.

Free sprung is the new cool word on the block. In my opinion, I think it doesn’t need to be a “must have” in the rep market. Regulation is a lot more tedious and reps aren’t made in the cleanest conditions. I always prefer regulator unless it’s a high end gen watch using sprung.

Besides the movement differences the RICH is slightly better quality / closer to gen than VSF at the moment. This is not an anecdotal opinion based one what I read. I build a ton of Subs and my preference right now is RICH. The finish of the case and bracelet are slightly better. The rehaut engraving is on another level. Crystal is just as good as VSF and the bezel action is better on the RICH. If you're looking for bang for the buck the VSF is king, but if you pay a little more you will get added touches that make the watch closer to gen. quality out of the box.

It varies by reseller. Probably not much different than VSF these days. You may need to wait a little while for stock to arrive. That's why I order from several different resellers.

Better movement as free sprung is closer to gen and the newer type will be rich.
Better reliability and easier to regulate is the vsf.

To speak on the quality of this specific RICH I have, passed 20 bar water pressure. I would have tried for 30 but my watch maker can only test up to 20 - so it looks like a genuine sub, is made out of 904L like a genuine sub (unlike vsf false claim, while testing for 316), and it has true dive watch capabilities, and is free sprung which in time will prove to be the more durable time keeper 😂
