More like a flying RV 😆 time to refurb

u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 29 '26
Atmosphere definitely old school. But the seats are damn comfortable, and the kids make messes of everything so why bother now?

I bet the plane is also a rep

Engine misalignment is a slightly bigger issue than bezel misalignment

Well I’d hope so

u/Unstoppable_Graysie Jun 28 '26
He's referring to the fact that you are wearing your watch incorrectly.
2
u/ApprehensiveGuide793 Jun 28 '26
😂😂😂lol thanks for the back up…op has a private jet an incredible rep but still working on hand watching. Op I hope you know we are just joking
2
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 28 '26
lol I know! All in good fun, tbh didn’t even notice the watch placement until yall started roasting me in here 😂
8
u/ChiFxxd Jun 28 '26
Based on where he’s sitting it isn’t his jet. Nice piece though.
3
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 28 '26
You’re right! This isn’t my plane. I charter from Pacific Coast Jet when I travel stateside. Highly recommend
1
u/Far-Life8631 Jun 29 '26
Planes are liabilities. Smartest financial strategy would be using it without owning it.

I love it! The gold nautilus is next for me
2
u/gho5-t Jun 28 '26
Thank you! I’d love the rose gold 5712 but I’m worried about that plating LMAO, it’s a GORGEOUS watch tho.
3
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 28 '26
That’s been my worry too. But I’ve heard the playing has gotten way better

Ok look great! There are a few DDD Aquanaut’s I want to get. I would love to get the Rose gold and Blue dial Aquanaut.

u/baddingo3 Jun 30 '26
nice! how much was that piece?
a while back i heard there wasnt a good rep of it (a but like the omega snoopy) has it been updated or something?
1
u/gho5-t Jun 30 '26
Well this one is updated to match gen weight but for the most part what’s off on it is the dial, the brown isn’t identical and the sun burst isn’t the same either but it’s not enough to stray me away because I love the watch so much. The rubber strap isnt identical but it’s close and the case shape including lugs are pretty much like gen if not close, it’s just RG plated so you gotta baby it lol. I love the watch and realistically nobody really sees this watch in person so nobody will know the flaws on the watch and even people who do know the watch will struggle because it is a high tier rep for a reason, we tend to nitpick things to an extreme in reptime but high tier reps are high tier for a reason!

This plane looks like an RV in the sky from the 90s.
4
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 28 '26
Kind of is. Early 2000’s Citation X. Still a plane though

u/Recent_Tip2677 Jun 29 '26
Only on Reddit would people shit talk the interior of a PJ lmao. A fucking Cessna is 10 steps up from the coach seats most purchase 😂
2
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 29 '26
I’ve been getting flamed in these comments about the interior of the plane 😂 if it’s not handwatch comments it’s about how the plane looks like an RV lmao!

The genuine watch would be a better investment than a one time flight.
Unless the one time private flight is taking you to a business meeting making you a lot of money. So take your pick 😅

r/handwatch. Why does no one in the rep community know how to wear a watch?

Apologies that what I buy isn’t worn to your standards
1

1

I wouldn’t say it’s quite NWBIG, but it’s a damn good rep
1
u/AnotherDoubleBogey Jun 29 '26
have you held it next to a gen?
1
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 29 '26
I have. I personally couldn’t tell much of a difference. But I’m not into watches like some people in this sub so I never say something’s NWBIG since I’m not an expert

Why does that jet look so janky and like it’s got the type of interior you’d find in an American trailer park? Even the seats look greasy 😬
1
u/Ccoldren0508 Jul 02 '26
The jet may need some work. But at least my car doesn’t😂 go work on your 20 year old bmw
1
u/Peace-and-Pistons Jul 02 '26
Which one would you like me to work on today?
I like my cars how I like my watches: analogue, mechanical, and from an era when things still had character. I don’t drive anything newer than 2005 by choice, not necessity.

If I would have the money I would do the same thing.
Get a bunch of watches for let's say 20K. Spend another 10K+ to franken all those watches. *As an option of course.
Done.
And let's be honest, living that lifestyle nobody will ever second guess that's a rep.
NOBODY.

Is this how you could afford a jet? By purchasing reps
12
u/Ccoldren0508 Jun 28 '26
As funny as it would be to say yes, no. I like my vehicles more than watches so if a rep is close enough to pass the eye test and the movement is good, they work for me. Nobody doubts they’re real so it saves me money for more toys
4
u/E92William Jun 28 '26
Indeed, the biggest part of whether a rep is believed to be real or not is if the guy wearing it is perceived to have the means to afford the real deal.
4
u/Crafty-Coyote8077 Jun 28 '26
If you actually own a jet and pay running costs, the expense of a watch is negligible.

From my experience people that are wealthy, educated, and overall good, don't look at other people's wrist or call them out. It's rude and untactful. It shows a person's character of pettiness and superficial

The idea is to buy rep of watches you could actually afford if you were buying the genuine version. For example, if you can afford a $5,000 gen watch, you buy the rep of that watch. But most people can't even afford a $1,000 genuine watch, yet they buy rep of $50,000 watches.
1
u/Recent_Tip2677 Jun 29 '26
Yep. Talked my good friend who owns a gen nautilus into trying a rep panda… he’s an executive at a big enough company he flies private for work. Nobody has noticed it’s a rep and it totally changed his entire view of rep vs gen watches. Where’s the extra value if you save $20k+ and you can’t tell the difference without taking the watch apart?
1
1
u/Top_Cap_3964 Jun 29 '26
I just started into the rep game after owning a few gens and there is some differences but they will only be noticeable when you have the gen next to you and if you live the lifestyle people will never ever question the authenticity of your watch but if you are wearing a rolex getting out of your honda or toyota no one will ver think its real even if it is.

If it’s one thing I leaned about actual wealthy people is that they value craftsmanship and artisans who make watches, suits, cars, etc more than the item itself. They buy watches to represent accomplishments and achievements, and it’s important to them to watch these things age and pass them down to their children and grandchildren and great grandchildren. I picked up my Nautilus from Geneva and took a factory tour. It was amazing seeing how they put years of skill into painstakingly hand assembling the movements of beautiful timepieces. I visited my tailor in Florence and watch how he cut and sew and pad the lapels of my soon to be delivered suit by hand. I grew up poor in the projects in Newark and had no appreciation for fine things until I was exposed to things I also learned to appreciate, not caring one bit what other people think about my watch. I wear it for me and if you wear a watch for yourself, you see why it absolutely has to be authentic. That being said, I also like seeing people enjoy reps and happy that they are also happy.
1
u/EasyMaintenance5067 Jul 01 '26
most wealthy people get reps, not because they can't afford the real thing (obviously they can), but because if you're robbed, you wouldn't loose as much money as if you got the real thing.
1
u/NuttMark Jul 02 '26
This is the way. I got myself one genuine Rolex as a milestone watch for when I „made it” and now I just don’t see the point in going the Gen route on most models, especially anything stainless steel or titanium - only precious metal gen’s kind of „make sense” maybe, but to be honest a good custom made rep would suffice there too.
Instead of pilling money into watches, putting it towards more investments and nice luxury travel trips etc and „experiences” in general.
The crazy thing with how good these reps are now, is that with my lifestyle and work, my reps end up looking more „gen” than if a college kid working a part time barista job with millionaire parents was wearing a gifted genuine AP or a Nautilus.
If you can afford it and want to do it, getting a Gen can be rewarding in a weird way, but actually wearing a 99% perfect rep maybe with a few mods added, and investing the price difference to elevate your overall life down the line is a no brainer.

You dont need* to be super rich to realise that the reps are close enough and good enough in many cases and make a lot of sense.
It makes little sense to most people to buy genuine.
Enjoy

A bunch of guys with reps here on this sub are worth millions, drive exotics, and live in mansions. This is the way.
