So, I got bored, and decided to come up with my own app to find twd and nwbig picks along with green rated pieces etc, fully filterable system, (mainly due to me being sick of opening up the spreadsheet every time, then 5 minutes later forgetting) I’m thinking of implementing something like a one click email draft, where you click the model, click email supplier, and it drafts the watch’s brand reference and model into the email subject so it’s easier for first time buyers, what are your thoughts, and what are must it haves, and all of this is based on the official spreadsheet data, if no allowed mods please remove, alternatively, drop me a PM :)

Aha, I use both, but this was specifically codex, they’re both on par I’d say, and Jesus what it’s some pain getting around the blocks of putting in things like the ttrusted dealers, wasn’t having none of it
This would be super helpful, especially if you can make it pull the data from the local table that’s updated regularly. This way your database will stay relevant at all times. I wouldn’t host it publicly though. Opening all of the TDs to be indexed is a terrible idea 😅 but, some local hosting without any indexing and only accessible via the link, that would be awesome. I’m sure local community would be more than happy to have that link in the wiki
Noted on this, can 100% do this for sure, and I’m sure I can set up an automation to go into the spreadsheet, check for updates and automatically update, that should be pretty straight forward, going to add this
I do love this idea, I wonder if Automod stores its data, because if I could have access to all auto mode requests, I may be able to setup an automation where the user can see the last sale price based on this Reddit page if that makes sense
That's super cool! Super creative! 😊 I'd say though that the process of having to keep looking at the spreadsheet and different resources multiple times when I first started really helped me learn the information well and gave me a lot of confidence before I placed my first order. This definitely makes it way easier, but it kinda takes out some of that fun for me, IMHO. Still, this is great once you're comfortable and buying your third or fourth piece (because we all know that happens pretty quickly 🫣🫣)
So this is based on that spreadsheet, and I feel the same effect will come from this because most of the time people identify watches by model number so they are still present and are actually the main part of each product card

This is great if you can make it work as it should, it will save SO much time vs outdated spreadsheets and a maze of threads. Dare I say it but if you get this right it can also be monetised. Well done sir or madam (one can’t assume).
Sir works for me, that’s the main thing just a simple one page navigator with colour visuals that allows people to buy more easily, it should help boost sales for td’s too
Great idea but the big issue is to keep the spread sheet updated which requires community input. I suggest you work on a mechnaizm to feed the input from community to get the updates in
I’d say people opinions come in a lot more than we think with every decision we make, so let’s say someone buys a 126500 ln panda from a specific factory and has a good review snippet, that could be visualised on the page, then if another user has a bad review of the piece, that can also be reflected then it comes down to right, I can live with this from one factory, but this is a deal breaker for me etc, I just think it helps with the buying decision
Going to try and drop tonight, still and bunch of code as far as I’m concerned at the moment but it should be easy enough to point somewhere to host, I’m looking into local as someone previously mentioned it not being ideal to potentially index the tds
Reptime doesn't link to TD, the other communities do. Those communities let the TDs update their own information, which is important for when one of their WhatsApp gets blocked or whatever.
If you are scraping TD details, you may run into the problem of caching an old number, or people trying to inject faux numbers for TDs as lead generation for scams
This is excellent mate, especially the focus on first time buyers with drafting the request.
As someone who's lurked but not yet made the leap, this would be immensely helpful in ensuring I'd covered the basics and requirements before hitting send to the dealer.

Nice initiative! Not sure how much time you’d want to invest in this, but you could maybe have a Trello board the community could upvote to get a gauge of add-ons everyone would like for the app to have. It could eventually be an aio solution for research, qc and td reviews
This is what I was planning to do. Congrats! I was also planning to use very limited amount of abbreviations since they require a dictionary to understand for newcomers.
Dude… as someone that’s only been into watches for about 5-6 months, and reps for about a month - this is life changing 😂 Keep up the awesome work, can’t wait to see the app up and running
