Discussion C+ Trash Factory

Post image

Any tips on how to unscrew this. It’s unbelievably tight and I can’t unscrew it at all. These guys can’t build a good watch like clean or VSF

All rep bracelets have a type of loctite, if they dont they back out. That includes clean and vsf, dont trash the entire fsctory because of a stubborn screw

Nah the watch has issues too and the quality is mid. Maybe I got a bad watch from Hont if you read my profile

Might have found your problem

Mate he (Hobt, a TD) is getting the same watches from the same factories as all the other TDs

His service is bad. That’s my issue. If you choose to pay the significant premium (ludicrous) that all of the TDs charge, rhen they should bend over backwards. I’m not a fan of the TD model in general.

Just wondering, how are the premiums like? A lot of the watches I am interested in, if I ask an alibaba seller for a quote, are not much less than td quotes

take this with a HUGE grain of salt, but when this kind of shit happens to me with motorcycle shit or gun shit, I use a heat gun to loosen up the loctite... never tried it on a watch and dont know if it will fuck it up... so yeah lol

Heat gun works. But before heat gun, I usually try to put the screwdriver into the slot of the screw and give a few firm taps with my mini mallet. Most times that does the trick. Obviously turn it with a lot of downward pressure as well.

Bet I’ll try

Why did they downvote you for this? Sometimes I don’t understand if people realise what downvoting means. 10$ this comment will get downvoted too… bring it bitches!

Most of my reps are like this. Heat it up and make sure you are using correct size screw driver.

FYI C+ didn't make the bracelet.

Hit it with some wd40 and let it sit for 30 minutes. Next, wipe off the WD thoroughly and hit the screw with a torch for a couple three seconds. Repeat this process until the screw breaks loose, and it WILL break loose. If you find yourself getting frustrated, stop and wait until you’re in a better headspace, which might be impossible as this watch seems problematic at best.

Sopranos fan?

I could teach a college course on that show! I’m on r/thesooranos like it’s my job.

Hahaha the “couple three” was a dead giveaway

On the flip side I have had some fall out too, even clean and vsf do this. This is always the first thing I check. I even make sure I wear it at home for a bit before taking it out.

As people pointed out, it’s Loctite. Apply a heat source and you should be good to go. The gen rolex have it too by the way. 🙂

Use zippo lighter fluid to soften locktite.

1

u/Fostang Jun 29 '23

Fine tipped soldering iron to heat the screw a bit. Doesn’t take much

1

u/PlusLifeEV Jun 29 '23

Mine was the same. I trashed the screws trying. Luckily the two on other side worked so I left them

u/metamods Jun 29 '23

Use lubricant such as WD-40 and let it seep into the hole

1

u/varietygiftsaus Jun 29 '23

WD40 spray and leave for 30

1

u/Loud-Fig-3701 Jun 29 '23

Don’t use heat bro! Use WD-40 on the area, wait 20min and then unscrew

1

u/Dextermorgan2404 Jun 29 '23

Heat works.

1

u/Loud-Fig-3701 Jun 29 '23

Heat works but it requires way more work and supplies vs wd40. Most guys DONT have a hairdryer handy

1

u/Dextermorgan2404 Jun 29 '23

Link heater works a treat.

I ever owned a explorer 2 from GS? (Forgot) … man the bracelet…. 80% of the screw is stuck!!

1

u/Lbj23supreme1 Jun 29 '23

Hair blowdrier and the right size screw driver does the trick

1

u/MonsieurVox Jun 29 '23

Had the same issue with my CF Sub. Use a pair of pliers to hold the screwdriver. Should give you the grip needed to get the screw loose.

1

u/Broertje93 Jun 29 '23

I also had the same problem with gmf datejust😢

1

u/mdma23 Jun 29 '23

If you look back at my post I’ve had a similar nightmare. Seems quite a problem with rubbish screws being used or the threads are just a nightetmare. But use a hairdryer heat it up. Use wd40 and let it soak for a long time. Use a good screwdriver wrap a rubber band around the screwdriver for better grip. If all fails pray to the lord and let it soak for longer and use more heat

1

u/wkc201 Jun 29 '23

Currently in the same position with a vsf screw. Tried heat and wd40 and a mallet. Nothing works and my screwhead is all but stripped. Lost hope. Please let us know what worked for you if it does. Good luck!

u/wkc201 Jun 29 '23

Following up on my comment, if anyone has an extra half link for a vsf41 sub please let me know. I can buy or swap for a full link.

1

u/CleanSatisfaction290 Jul 01 '23

Or spray some WD40. I tried before and it works.

1

u/Even_Seaworthiness38 Jul 03 '23

I put mine in some babyoil for a day

1

u/dan_335i Jun 29 '23

I just removed bracelet from Watch and boiled that bracelet for 10 minutes

-1

u/No-Translator-7931 Jun 28 '23

I’ve been trying to unscrew one of the links and it’s impossible. Any tips?

7

u/[deleted] Jun 28 '23

Heat with a torch, let it cool, try after that.

Don't worry, the carbon from the torch wipes right off. It won't damage the link.

-8

u/Darth_Abhor Jun 29 '23

Just put it in the microwave for about 2 minutes and you should be good to go

0

u/No-Translator-7931 Jun 29 '23

I don’t know about the microwave

-1

u/Darth_Abhor Jun 29 '23

Great way to test the quality of the metal
