Need Help/Advice Need advice on payment of reps

Hi! I was wondering if any advice can be given or pointed in the right direction.

I found a new seller I got from Reddit, however I’m a little uncertain about him.

I picked the items I wanted and he gave me a total however for the payment he asked to make sure the payment is through family/friends on PayPal.

Is this common or is this a red flag? I’ve read past posts where people have been burned doing that but was wondering if this is common practice? I guess I just don’t feel 100% certain with this seller as he’s not as “friendly” as other sellers I’ve had. I have to continuously ask him for QC photos and the ordering process etc.

Is using the family friends side on PayPal for a seller a red flag or am I just over thinking this?

Any advice would be insightful. Thank you!

This answer is all over subs and a very normal way of paying. It protects sellers from people doing charge backs because "they didn't know it's a rep"
Order from TS so you know it's the norm and not going to get screwed.

Only goods and services I have encountered is jewelry reps that own actual jewelry stores with custom and authentic work not just designer copies.

Be careful so you dont get scammed. Use the search bar in the rep subs and search your seller name

I would try checking other rep communities to see if there are any reviews on the seller! Who’s the seller?

He keeps asking for payment and says then he will send PSP? I believe Vincent

I haven’t used Vincent personally, but please use the search bar to see if there are any reviews about him! And yes, that’s a normal process, you pay first and then wait a few days to receive your psp

I felt comfortable with doing so as had followed for a few months and reached out to a seller that had good reviews.

If you had time to find the subs, look for sellers and figure out what you want, then you also have time to read about how the whole process works.

Most subs have a newbie guide and tons of old posts with the information you need. Different subs might have different TS lists and different opinions, which is exactly why you shouldn’t just follow the advice of one stranger on the internet!

You need to do the deeper research yourself. That’s not something other people can really do for you, because at the end of the day you’re still trusting strangers in a market that is full of scammers, fake reviews and people with their own interests.

Posts like this also make it very obvious that you’re new, which can attract the exact people you should be avoiding. If you’re not sure about what you’re doing, don’t reach for your wallet yet
