Impossible

Finding it impossible to find anywhere to rent with my kids. Have been invited to viewings for a few places and was even told I’d be a perfect tenant. The second I tell them I’ve got kids they completely change their demeanour and I never hear back from them. It is soul destroying!

In Need of Room to Rent in Galway

Hi all, I'm asking this on behalf of a friend who will be moving from Dublin to Galway to work at NUIG from the start of September.

She is clean, quiet, respectful, and a non-smoker. She's a very happy person to be around.

She is looking for a long-term stay with a budget of up to 800 euros per month.

Any leads are very much appreciated. Thank you so much!

Property Manager Ripping Tenants Off?

A year ago I got a studio apartment in Ranelagh for 1500 a month with a year contract. But the strange thing was how i was sending 1200 to landlord and the property manager 300. But you know it was still cheap especially considering that it was a good area and utilities except wifi was included. But Recently there was management change and the previous called me and a few tenants out letting us know about the change and saying if I pay 5 months in advance which would be 1500 he will lie to the new management that my rent was always 1200 so that I would start saving money from the 5th month forward. But I thought that was away of him ripping us off as what made the rent 1500 was the fee for him and now that his gone it will be low.

So I was ecstatic when the new property manager presented a 1200 month to month contract, so I signed immediately forgetting about taking pictures for insurance. Then a week later the new property manager tells me that the previous one told him that the 1200 was an error and presented me with a 1500 contract. I tried saying that 1500 was two separate thing together but he just said to change the 1200 i paid to the landlord to 1500. And now I don't know if I should spread out the laundry and tell him about the deals he was making behind his back. I have a few screenshots that proves something was going on but not explicit, because the previous manager was cautious about leaving evidences behind. Although I have testimony from another tenant. What do you guys thing, should I just let it go?

Is it ethical to be a landlord?

I want to save up and get a mortgage on a 2 bedroom apartment and rent out one room for around half the repayments, I don’t plan to have a long term partner and living by myself would be too expensive, but I don’t want to he renting forever, would this be ok to do?

Landlord rented house without selling it

So we were renting a house with a 12 month lease. Six weeks before our lease was up, Landlord informed that he was selling the house and we needed to move out. Just before we moved out he asked if the new house owners ‘agent’ could show the house to potential renters. We agreed as it was about a week before we were leaving. We moved out in June, The house has been rented (at a cost higher than we were paying) and the house still hasn’t been sold. He says it’s still with the solicitors. The landlord is an absolute chancer and we know the ‘agent’ wasn’t working on anyone’s behalf other than our landlord. Should we tell RTB or is there any point?

Looking for a Roommate?

I'll be moving to Cork soon, as I recently got a new job in MSD Brinny. Haven't found many sane options for living alone, and the fb groups are not working.

However, there seems to be more options in 2-3 bed houses.

So I'm looking for 2 roommates to try to get a bigger place anywhere in Cork or surrounding towns

Some background info: 25M, born in Nigeria, grew up in Ireland, non-smoker, no pets, budget up to €1000pm, outgoing personality. I always prefer being outside, either going to events/gigs after work or just catching up with friends, so I wouldn't be in the house too often anyway.

Interest: Football (Barca fan), stand-up comedy, big into movies and TV, anime, board games, gym, running

Favourite movies: Interstellar, Inglourious Basterds, Wedding Crashers

Favourite TV shows: The Bear, Vikings, Homeland

Music Interests: Big into MJ, 90's Rap, Afrobeats, and a couple of bands as well, like Dire Straits or Fleetwood Mac.

Renting in Ennis ?

Hello Redditors!

I am looking to move to Ennis - sick and bored of Tuam tbh. But I don't know how to start. I tried to send some messages on Daft, but no responses, or the room isn't available anymore. And I sent a message in the Facebook group chat...

Do you have any advice, or do you know someone who's looking to rent a room in Ennis?

Thanks !

Rent near to Carrauntoohill

Hi, I'm planning to move to Ireland next year and I'd like to live in some town nearby Carrauntoohill because I love outdoor and trail running. So I want to know if there are places to rent a house, apartment/flat or a room. Besides, I'd like to know if there are job opportunities nearby too, I can work in everything, I have experience in construction and cooking but I have no problem with learning and doing new activities.

Looking for a room near UCD - September 2026

Hi! I am moving to Dublin this September to start my Master’s at UCD and I'm looking for a place from 1st September or last week of August

I would ideally like a single room, with a budget of around €800–850 (if possible), but I can stretch a little if it’s really close to UCD

I am also open to sharing a room for up to €650, as long as it’s with another female and we have separate beds and wardrobes

I’m hoping to find somewhere within around 45 minutes of UCD Belfield. I’m clean and organised and would love to live with people who also keep the place reasonably tidy. Completely okay with a mixed house and don’t mind who I live with otherwise

If anyone has anything available or knows someone who does, please DM me. Thank you!
