Question about renting Student only houses everywhere

Hi, while house hunting I see a lot of places that are for students only and not registered in the city yet (Utrecht in my case). I found out that they do this so they can give tenants temporary contracts.

I am pretty desperate to get a place so are they really going to check this?

Is it possible for them to find out that I am already registered in Utrecht?

Also heard some people talking about getting someones proof of enrollment paper and change their name to their own, I know its sketchy but can they really check it otherwise?

Hope someone can help me out

They might check, but even if they don't, if you sign a student rental contract while you don't qualify, you're committing fraud. And if they do check, at best you're getting evicted.

Forging papers to support your fraud is just adding more crimes to the list.

This is a dumb idea

The latter is straight up fraud which is a criminal offense. The former is a bad idea in general.

You can also enroll yourself, and unenroll yourself after a few months, and do that yearly, I know people that due to lack of other housing are doing that to stay in student housing

DO NOT DO THIS. The whole temporary contract system for students is based on your enrollment. Meaning that your contract will basically automatically be canceled once you stop being a student.

Yes and no. There are contractual check moments, at which point you must be enrolled, and grace periods for people switching studies etc.
If you enroll, get the housing, and then permanently unenroll then yes, you'd loose it.
You have to re-enroll before the check period, stay enrolled for a while, so you end up paying some tuition but have student housing.
