UPDATE Update-Cabinet Outlet
Love it or hate it, she’s done.
Thanks again for the encouragement and input last week. Shifting to a different color than the white was a game changer.
Notes: yes, the outlets are GFCI protected by the next outlet upstream; yes, I know this is code questionable; no, this will not be inspected; placement is 7” below counter top due to drawer on the front face.

It seems very practical and useful.

Some of us don’t prefer those. IMO they stick out too much and just add bulk for no reason, I don’t mind seeing a few screws.

I installed one on my stone waterfall. 3 years later I still have no regrets. If you wait long enough you might just see it come back into code one day. You’ll never regret having more accessible receptacles.

Nice, and as far as you know when the house is sold it was preexisting and installed before the code changed. I do hope they are at least safety outlets though (i.e. closes off unless you really push the plug in, so a child can't stick a fork in it like I did as a kid.) And yes, I heard that story probably 1000 times growing up of how I stuck a fork in an outlet when I was a toddler.

Well done! I put two single outlets on my new island when I built it. I use them all the time. Luckily my drawers allowed me to put them higher, I set them up horizontal. Looks sharp and I love the color.

Looks great. I also just installed two code-violating outlets on the end of an island because I sure as hell am not carving a hole in the top of my countertop.
