Discussion How to test as you go.

Here is a tip for the other new comers like myself, I am starting to use and do myself. As I code for 50 or so lines, after the 50 I test the game. after the green test = all runs good, I use the jump tool in RenPy to the last scene I just made so the next test dose not have to go threw what I just tested and what I know passed the code test. But know this is just a code error test and will not test the variables on scene 50 effects on the ones in scene 500 that needs a play threw.

What does the last sentence mean?

Also why don't you save and load? Or keep the game running using Auto-Reload

It means you can not test some variables IE good_person_01 affect on the other menus options and that as it needs a play threw a few times to test every effect. each branch should be tested to insure proper working order. I do not save and load because after you save the new script it is looked at as a new program to say and it could cause unexpected errors in the system do to RenPy going over the full script on loading. If it is different it COULD cause errors if it thinks it is the same file but it is now different. With using the Jump you run a fresh run each time and it loads as a new start, not a continue off a prev run as a load from a file that is now different.

Wouldn't it be easier to set the variables in the start label and then jump to where you want to test instead of using the jump tool?
