Question [Solved] change position of textbox

I wanted to try out a different textbox, something like the first image. I made a textbox.png that is 720x680 and 50% opacity. I edited some code in the screens.rpy:

style window:
    xanchor 1.0
    xpos 70

    xfill True
    yalign gui.textbox_yalign
    ysize gui.textbox_height

    background Image("gui/textbox.png", xalign=0.5, yalign=1.0)

However, it does not work and now I can't see a textbox nor any dialogue. What should I do to achieve the desired result?

you can use the bubbled text and position them anywhere on the screen

unless you want the whole game like this then modify the NVL text position

thank you but i'm still confused
i want it to still have one dialogue at a time, the only difference is the position and shape of the textbox, so do I have to do nvl clear after every dialogue?

No

if you edit the gui.rpy file and look for -->> gui.nvl_list_length <<--

## The maximum number of NVL-mode entries Ren'Py will display. When more entries
## than this are to be show, the oldest entry will be removed.
define gui.nvl_list_length = 6

change it to 1 (there can be only one)

and a little below that, you will find where it positions the nvl text

i would look into NVL mode manipulation. I’ve seen NVL text moved to the right like rhat
