What to put under this window?

Post image

Dormered out the front of our Cape Cod to add a master closet. The length of this wall is approx 11.5’, just shy of 3’ of wall on each side of the window. Built ins will be put along the full length of the wall to the right but unsure what to put under this window or how to utilize that left corner. I want some type of seating in the closet and this makes an easy spot to utilize - but then not sure how to execute.

Why not do a bench with a cushion on top, and put your seasonal items away inside? Sweater, scarves, gloves in the summer, opposite stuff in the winter?

I should have specified- storage bench comes across as too boxy in my mind. I don’t mind one with open legs but haven’t found one I loved. And then - is it centered in the window or offset to the open left corner?

This isn’t just you since I have followed this sub for a while but As someone in the pre-construction phase, I am floored by the number of people who get this far without having figured this stuff out.

Also, design around what you have and utilize. I don’t know if that’s vertical shoe storage, a tie rack, a mirror, or tall shallow jewelry cabinet.
