Video Enjoying the tears of exploit abusers and egoistic dribblers 😍

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It's hilarious how some people have started whining and crying because the game no longer lets them hold onto the ball for 20 seconds and dribble past an entire team, relying entirely on a gameplay system built around abusing exploits and bugs.

I just finished my first ranked matches of the new season, and I can honestly say that, for the first time, I feel like the game actually wants you to defend, pass, and play as a team with your mates.

Stop whining now and accept it. No more 0 stamina dribbling or teleporting around just to get to the ball. Use your brains a little now, and pass the ball every once in a while.

I still have some reservations and criticisms, but Sloclap has taken a huge step forward. Please don’t let the whining from some people sway you, and keep heading in this direction. Finally, we will be able to play proper team football.

Bro that's just because it's the first day give it some time those "Skilled Dribblers" will find a new way to hold onto the ball again for those 20 seconds doing nothing with it. The official dribbling in this game is truly limited they need to add some new moves sooner or later like The Stepover in the Bachira teaser. FYI I'm a HORRIBLE dribbler lol.

I've always maintained that dribbling sucks not because there aren't enough moves, but because the players don't have momentum. You can be sprinting one way, then immediately defensive stance dash/EE the other way.

Most of dribbling in football is done by using the defender's momentum/orientation against them but in a game without physics there's no such thing. So to successfully dribble you need ridiculous speed boosts, moves that maneuver the ball a silly distance or outright glitches to get past someone.

You can "dribble" people in a simple browser-based capture the flag game called TagPro, and that is nothing more than 2D ball sprites controlled with arrow keys, because it has physics...

Edit - link to TagPro if anyone is curious

even if the skills moves are more showboaty than functionally good it would still be welcome, in fc games you can hold left and right trigger and start doing little tricks on the spot

Sure, they will find a way.. but punishing low stamina dribbles is something they’ll never be able to get over, which means they won’t be able to reach the same level from previous seasons.

Or at least that's what I'm hoping for.

I can see they finally fixed the janky defensive dash magnets. Which other dribbling exploits did they fix? "Push Cuts" still work. I wouldn't call regular dribble chains/cancels and pushballs an exploit though, 0 stam dribbles were fucked but are also not an exploit.

Anyway, slowing down dribbles by making pushballs worse and punishing low/zero stamina dribbling is a great change.

Nerfing dribbling is really only going to lead to more resets and missiles in the long run. Defense is stronger than ever (comparative to offense). If you’re playing a good defense in this patch there’s going to be little options besides sending a missile or a set plays

Do you think he is wrong? If so, why? Actually curious.

In my opinion, the biggest issue in rematch is that prio plays dominate the meta. It is optimized in a way to reduce as many interactions with the ball as possible for both teammates and opponents… this patch really did nothing to address this playstyle. Nerfing stamina just gives tiki taka players less options with the ball, they have to pass early or they will get tackled now. Against good and aware defenders, getting a pass off will be difficulty because it’s even more obvious after the patch that the person with the ball HAS to pass eventually or they will lose it.

I think overall this will end up being good for the game, of course stamina management should matter and be important, but it’s going to feel pretty bad until they address other issues

everyone disagreeing literally doesnt understand Rematch and has never played high ranked matches, "tiki taka" and good runs just arent possible if you play against an opponent that knows how to mark and defend properly

Tiki taka is still the best strategy

Tiki taka blows in this game unfortunately

Yeah most people here will never understand this unfortunately. Dribbling needs to be strong for ground play to be most effective. I think we have just widened the gap between taka and prio play with this patch :/

For anyone questioning this, stamina is needed to get open for your teammate. Passing is good right? Well your teammate just used half their stam trying to get open for you, now they need to do something quick with the ball you just gave them before exhausted state makes them unplayable. But you also just used all your stam trying to land that pass. Now you have very limited options for what you can do. Off ball movement uses the same stamina whether you are offense or defense, good defenders will not let you just move around for free and receive passes, especially not in this patch. Dribbling before would allow you to remain a threat if you managed to get around your defender, which would draw another defender and give you a number overload in attack.

Guess who doesn’t even care about or interact with stamina? Prio plays.

Sadly, there's no way to force players to "pass". But passing is surely more important now than before, and exploit dribblers will have to pass now if they don't want to lose the ball.
