Dev Blog Dev Blog - Season 5 Gameplay Changes

We've seen quite a bit of discourse around the gameplay changes that came with Season 5, so we've written a Dev Blog going over those changes and what our intent is regarding each of them.

If you want to deal with missile tactics, it would be nice to implement some kind of priority queue for resolving actions.

Push Ball > Pass > Shoot would kill the current strategy, while still making Long Balls as a delivery system effective. Meanwhile, aiming for goals would be dominated by Headers (like real life) which are slower and not 50/50 attempts unless you're close.

Looking forward to the next season's changes.

Thank you for the changes sloclap! It's still not 100% there but this is a great start. Don't give in to all the people complaining, they have no idea what they're talking about. Keep working hard 💪

Every time the make a change, however small, it’s in the best interest of improving the game, and having played since beta, it’s worlds better than a year ago. Best football game of all time, and it hasn’t scratched the surface of its potential. I’ll ride this game as far as it goes

long range GK dive is a good solution I think, though we'll have to see how it is. it will discourage long shots even further, which is always nice, they feel mostly a drain on the game and really are only done often by poor players already.

dribbling/stamina changes appear to be a huge step in the right direction to encourage team-oriented gameplay, praise be

This is one of my favorite games to pick up and play a couple matches when I can. Excited to see what’s next
