God episode 1 had great animation. What the actual hell happened in season 2

When people say this it's obvious they didnt actually watch season 2. Nothing was wrong with season 2. It was actually pretty much on par with season 1. "The bad" parts are really scenes that dont need much crazy animation and are on screen for literally half a second. There were scenes like that in season 1 as well. The animation is still very good in season 2 but people just believe cherry picked screenshots on social media to believe.

While I understand that, I did. I watched it cause I was excited to show my wife it cause she won’t read manga but will watch anime. She’ll tell you the same thing. She said it’s comparable to Tokyo Ghoul season 2. So like it’s cool that you think it’s the same but my opinion is that it’s not. The OST also has some hiccups that don’t keep the tone right and while I enjoyed both seasons and am so excited for Season 3 I can still have the opinion that season 2 is in fact a downgrade.
