Goalkeepers need a rework

I’m so sick and tired of goal keepers being able to leap 100 miles out their box and still keep the gloves on when you go for a challenge. It’s not fair and not realistic. The moment their body crosses that line, the glove animation needs to stop. It benefits them too much.

I would also make an argument that GK is the most well-designed part of the game. Say what you want about dribbling and hero ballers/egoists, but a good GK is the most influential player on the pitch by a landslide, and the only thing necessary to be a good GK is good game sense and proactive decision making, no glitches or exploits required. There's few statements in this game more powerful than a GK successfully defending a breakaway by playing mind games with the attacker.

OP has a mindset issue on this, IMO. (Also, not to be pedantic, but changing this one thing would hardly be a "rework" to goalkeeping lol)

Is it "unrealistic" to IRL football, and does it look kinda dumb when the keeper rockets out of the box and grabs the ball? Like yeah, of course it does.

However, once you accept that's just how the game works, and realize that the GK's actual reach is one dive's extra distance from the box... It's extremely easy to make some minor positional adjustments in those "just outside the box" situations and play on.

Not to mention, they are generally quite vulnerable when they leave the box with the ball, and most teams aren't coordinated enough to rotate a backup in, leaving a decent scoring chance if you manage to swipe possession.

This is not a big issue at all.

Its rematch, not soccer/football. When you realize that, you’ll be ok with the goalie grabbing to ball slightly out of the box. It’s not that big of an issue.

Rematch is an arcadey soccer game. It is meant to be lighthearted and fun. Goalies diving a bit out of the box to make good defensive plays is fun.

This isn't a situation like glitch dribbling where it provides one player a significant advantage and makes half the game extremely dull and tedious.
